The sad thing is that it costs manufacturers probably no more extra then $5 max to upgrade from a 720P display to a 1080P display. Just look at laptopscreen.com and realize that those price margins between resolutions shrink even more when wholesaled to a manufacturer. With no increased assembly costs, its clear we are being screwed. The only reason low resolution displays are used is so that they can sell FHD screens at 100-150 dollar premiums. Its so frustrating, the moment manufacturers start slapping 720P or 1080P stickers on their laptops would be the year the lo-res screen would die.
