Deal Details

As part of the new blackberry z10 launch they are running a free gogo wireless promotion on delta for blackberry z10 users. It is simply restricted by user agent.

Change your browsers user agent to one of these and you can use inflight wifi from GoGo for free on all domestic delta flights through 6/30/2013. Working as of 7/8/2013 will update if that changes No longer working July 10th.

Once you complete the gogo login process with the fake user agent, you can go back to your regular browser/apps/etc for the duration of your flight.

User agents that work currently:
"Mozilla/5.0 (BB10; Touch) AppleWebKit/537.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0.9.773 Mobile Safari/537.10"
"blackberry z10"
"blackberry"

Actual promotion details:
http://www.keepmovingtour.com/des...ATE=040313

Instructions to change user agent in all PC browsers:
http://www.howtogeek.com/113439/h...xtensions/

iPad/iPhone:
Use Journey Lite or Sleipnir to set a custom user agent to one of the above:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/j...39952?mt=8
Under settings (+ button - > Settings -> Pretend to be... enter custom string there) Once you browse and get access, you should be able to return to Safari for the rest of your flight
Can also use Sleipnir and set a custom UA (Thanks spazzy22) - same as above.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/s...32112?mt=8

On Android
Use Dolphin Browser to set a custom user agent of above strings (Under Display Settings.) You can return to stock browser once you browse to a site through GoGo.

Clearly, the promotion is only intended for Blackberry users...not sure why tricking Delta into getting a paid service for free is a slick deal. My two cents...

On Android, I installed Dolphin Browser. Lets you customize the User Agent.

On the stock browser, you cannot pick Blackberry as an option under the Debug menu.

Thanks, was just adding Dolphin mention on Android to first post, you can't set a custom UA in dolphin for iOS unfortunately.

On an iOS device you can download the browser called Sleipnir from the app store, and change your User Agent.

It's a little tough to find in the app, but when you're on a page, tap the bottom center button, and then the setting icon (top left), go to Advanced Settings, and then User Agent. Put in one of the strings in the OP.

If you have a jail broken device, you can just get the app called User Agent Faker.

Or just buy a BlackBerry. The Z10 is definitely better than any existing smartphone.

Tell that to any business owner who accepts credit cards through SquareUp...

If I was the OP and planned on using it I would have kept it to myself. If every single person is using the inflight wifi, the speeds will be so slow that it would be pretty much useless.

I'd say the odds are slim that too many people on any given flight frequent forums that tell you to change your browser's user agent string for free WIFI. Probably even less likely that all of those people go to the trouble of actually changing the user agent.

The only browser I could find that lets you set a custom string is JourneyLite in the app store.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/j...39952?mt=8
Under settings (+ button - > Settings -> Pretend to be... enter custom string there) Once you browse and get access, you should be able to return to Safari for the rest of your flight [need to confirm]

Worked like a charm! I downloaded JourneyLite to my iPhone and changed the user agent to the first custom field in the original post. Did the gogo login via Journey. And now I'm posting via the slickdeals app on my way to NYC. Thanks so much!
