Thread Details

I have been using the Nokia c3-00 with AT&T for around a year. I was happy with it overall. I somehow messed up the screen and it will not turn on anymore.

Phone features for replacement:
Physical Qwerty ( might settle for touch screen)
Threaded SMS
Music player
[ Thats about it, all I do is talk or txt ]

Phones im considering.
Nokia c3-00 but i don't want to spend the prices for one when its as much as a smartphone upgrade. ( $60+)
Samsung Magnet
Nokia e71x
Any other phones I should think about?

$180 LG L9 and $150 Nokia 521(Easy to Unlock), Do you not visit the frontpage or do a SD/FW quick search? Also the used $60 Samsung Flight 2.

I saw those and have done searches. I was looking for a non-smartphone, since I don't want to pay for data I won't use. Also was trying to stay away from touch screens unless it was the lumia 920 or nexus 4.

The flight 2, had horrible reviews when it came out about freezing and I think crowded keyboard.

I am going for the Magnet and Samsung SGHA-187.

Thanks though.

You can use a smartphone without a data plan just don't tell your wireless company and block any data to stay under the radar. I've been doing this for the pass few months with my Nexus 4 without a data plan.

Using a predicative virtual keyboard and voice typing is at least 10x faster than a thumb keyboard. Plus with AI virtual keyboard you can enlarge key size to your liking. This is the reason most smartphone user never go back to phones with keyboard since the tech. has improved.

The Flight 2 is OK, I have 2 of them for the last 2 years with under 1% freezing. Your have to use your fingernail to type, but the keys are raised. Amazon and cowboom have some nice deals on Nokia and Palm feature phones for under $70.

$29 Samsung - Flight II Mobile Phone - Gray (AT&T) - CowBoom.com [cowboom.com]
$18 Amazon.com: Buying Choices: Palm Pre Phone (Sprint) [amazon.com]
Amazon.com: Sharp FX Plus Unlocked GSM Phone with Android 2.2 OS, 2MP Camera, Touchscreen, QWERTY Keyboard, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories [amazon.com]

Thanks, im slightly considering it. When you block data from the phone settings can you still send/receive Picture messages?

I might hold out with some old broken phone, till the s4 goes on sale. Buy it to sell and get a Lumia 920 or Nexus 4.
