Reviews don't look that good but based on price, it might be worth it. For folks who cook often, I would spend money on All Clad once. It is going strong after 12 years.
What? Amazon reviews are at 4.5 stars. This stuff is as good, or in the case of some All-clad pieces, better. Most of the negative reviews are from dopes that think white spotting caused adding salt before water boils is abnormal.
Sure but pots burning on the bottom, warping etc are no good signs. For someone who cooks a lot, it matters IMHO. Get two three piece All Clad set and be happy.
Like these one star reviews were with all clad? There are going to be some unhappy people with any product.
Poor Finish, Poor Stainless Steel, February 9, 2011
Disappointed, September 1, 2010
do not buy, August 5, 2011
In my zeal to pick up an All Clad 12" skillet WITH cover, I ignored all the posts declaring this poor quality. Oops. Not only did I buy one, but two. They arrived and when I took them out of the box, I noticed very course circular buffing in the steel around the edges--like a really bad wax job on a car, only these marks were in the metal. The rim around both pans was sharp! I felt my old All Clad skillets, and they are all smooth, perfectly shiny, nothing to notice. And that's their beauty. But these...impostors are horrible! They are, indeed, lighter in weight. All Clad should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on them. It really cheapens the brand. Anyway, to anyone who is even remotely thinking of buying these, SKIP IT.
Did I mention that Amazon rocks, easy returns, no biggie. I lost $8 shipping. I deserve it.

This review is from: All-Clad 51125 All Clad Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Fry Pan with Lid (Kitchen)
November 23, 2012
In the interest of fairness, I've left my first review below this one. After 2 years using this pan I'm very disappointed. Everything sticks, uneven heating, clean-up is much more difficult than any other pan. I've found my old Revere ware skillet and like it better, even if it is slightly warped. Not at all what I had hoped for. I find myself still looking at the All-Clad in my pans cupboard but going with cast iron or something else. Nothing wrong with the lid, but the the pan isn't worth it. Wish I had my money back.
