You can remotely switch on or off your device wirelessly if your plug in through this switch by using your iPhone App control.

Great product, great price for two. The point of this thing is that you can use your iPhone even outside of your wireless network. For example I use mine to turn a space heater on in one of my rooms on the way home from work.

Never heard of zwave but it looks like a different idea from the WeMo.

I would have to agree, but I still don't think there is a viable replacement. Never thought zwave was a viable replacement though.

Zwave dead... ok, tell that to all the huge companies selling thousands of Zwave enabled products... Trane, Schlage, Kwikset, Black and Decker, GE, Genie, Pentair, Hayward, and dozens more.

but I bet you use that fancy X10 stuff huh Wink

and btw, the MiCasaVerde Vera now has a plugin for WeMo devices... since WeMo is std 2.4Ghz wifi.

i agree, these people have no clue. dont forget to mention every major alarm manufacturer offering home automation, lowes iris system, control4, homeseer, i could go on and on but why bother.

sweet that it has a plugin, but at this price a normal zwave adapter would be cheaper, so if you already have the vera, makes little sense to buy the WeMo.
