You should try the Melita Javajig. It uses k cup sized plastic and then you put in a mini paper filters to go in the Keurig machine. It never lets any grinds through and is awesome. It also means that it doesn't matter what size the grind is (the ekobrew has a harder time with very fine grinds) I got them at my local grocery store. There are 2 in a pack for 6.99 and it comes with 30 filters. A refill pack of 60 filters for next time was also 3.99. I have two ekobrews (which I love for my coffee) and two Javajigs (which my husband loves for his coffee. We buy interesting coffee at Marshalls for 4.99 and 5.99 and haven't bought an actual k-cup for almost a year. We love it!
The java jig is a poor option. It is 3 pieces and is messy.
for those complaining of sediments, it's the lower end/smaller brewers. I've got a B131 at work, and a B40 at home. I don't get any sediments at home, but get some at work. Using the same coffee and cups, still get some at work after a nice deep clean.
Have that drawer (came with ekobrew's when it was FP).. it's HORRIBLE.
There's no mechanisms to it at all.. no glixes, no slides, nothing keeping the weight of the drawer off the housing. I had to pull the drawer out and file down a loose burr that was ripping open my K-Cups... shoddy work at best.
no, the ekobrew functions just like a normal k-cup
We bought the glass one when it was $16.99 on FrontPage and love it. Looks great and functions well, adds some flavor to the otherwise bland machine.
