Deal Details

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 replacement cables for $19.99. Mic version will work on the TF10 essentially turning it into a 10vi model.

Its been a while since there has been a Amazon Ultimate Ears Triple.fi deal so many of you like me are probably out of warranty. My left side sound went out so I was hunting the internet for replacement cables and nothing came close to this price for a set of original cables. These are the mic versions and the non mic versions can be had for same price but I highly recommend the 10vi cable not only for the mic but because of experience they are more durable. The non mic cables are stiffer so for microphonics issues and gym might be better to get those but they do go bad quicker.

I don't recommend the originals in general, not just because of the stiffness. Personal recommendation is the Jaben ES8 (http://www.jaben.com.au/products/hip-es8uecable), but there are plenty of other offerings. That said, may still pick these up just for the inline mic. Smilie Thanks!

Edit:
Thoughts on the 10vi cable suggest it's VERY fragile specifically because of the microphone:

My first set, the connector was pulled from the cable. Logitech sent me the whole new set. I've been babysitting the cable. Embarrassment

This is a good deal because the cable's selling for 30-40 bucks on ebay... but many of us here paid only $99 for the TF... it's still a cheap replacement. laugh out loud

any specific reason you recommend this cable??

mine has a loose wire and it bugs the heck out of me every now and then...so i've been looking for a new one...some of the aftermarket ones seem far too expensive tho..

also, when i got mine, it came with the smaller metal hard case..which when storing my headphones in, seems to force the cable to stay in a curled up shape..which is incredibly annoying...is the one thats listed on their site any improvement at all?

The ES8 is very flexible, and has almost no "memory" worth mentioning. I definitely prefer it over the stock cables, without any hesitation. Smilie

This is probably a stupid question but will the mic cable work on the non mic headphones? Will it get mic functionality?

My UE TF10 was a non-mic version. Can I replace it with the mic version? I don't know if it's version-swappable.

damn shipping and tax somewhat kills this deal... Ebay has it for just $7 more.

Jaben had a 2 for 1 deal on those cables a few years back, don't know if they will ever repeat it though. I did buy them then, and they're ok, definitely better than the Logitech ones that are prone to breakage, but they're a little long and the braid is less than optimal.

And I really really wish Logitech would run a deal on the UE 900 at some point, I would love a pair but don't want to pay $300+ for them.

this deal is hot. amazon is selling these for $60 which is insane. $20 was the original price of this replacement cable back in the day. I've looked into aftermarket cables which are all pricey but the one from logitech is garbage, maybe good for a year for a daily listener like myself where i have it attached to my phone in my pocket when i walk into work.

I'd be interested if anyone has found a replacement cable that includes a mic. I'm not opposed to using an add on device but since I use this to answer calls and start/stop playback I have to have that functionality.
