I would go with at least a 430ex speedlight for just $40 more
+1

The 430ex has good AF assist, the 270ex and 320ex do not (unless you like a series of blinding flashes).

Do they do that?

I'm thinking about returning it anyways. I already have a 580EX II and no intention of buying another 600EX or a ST-E3 so it's not much of an upgrade.
I didn't either...until I tried it. I just wish I could have added 1-2 more 600s to my kit with this but missed Frown

The ST-E3 makes OCF a breeze and works extremely well with the 600. Otherwise...the 580 is basically the same flash without RF.

Is this dead? I don't see the $125 off $500 working... It worked earlier in the day... some places online say that the deal is supposed to go through May 4th, but not sure...

I'm no longer seeing the discount, either. Looks like it also disappeared from the promotions page.

The deal is not dead. You have to add the item to your cart to see the price. The deal is through May 4th.

Price on the 70-200 F/2.8 isn't that bad. It's about the same as the used market after taxes but unlike the used market you get a warranty.

can anyone comment on which one is the better deal, the sony a37 (http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/93976/bh-photo-video-sony-alpha-slta37-digital-slr-camera-with-18135mm-lens) or the refurbed canon t3i here?

i'm a complete novice and just looking to get better pictures than my current p&s camera. this is mostly for taking family pictures.

That's a pretty decent price on the 50mm f/1.2 L. I paid $1500 for it new about a year ago, but Amazon currently has it for $1369 new, which is also a good price.

I really like the 50mm f/1.2 lens because it is fantastic for low light, especially when paired with a 5d mark III.

I don't want to judge, but I feel like Canon was being shady. Like m3m3, sevimli, and stevedola mentioned after me, the deal did not show up for some time on the page. Now that it's back up, the 17-40 is now out of stock. (For me, the 600EX was never in stock.)

Well, at least it seems like the deal is back up now...

Would anyone recommend the EF-S 18-200mm for $435 after this deal? I'm looking for a standard zoom lens.

for a price point reference, I got the 18-200mm refurb for under $300 after tax a few months ago when it went on sale. (it was 50% off) good walk around lens.
