Link? I searched for REI LED, Light, and Lantern deals here, but I didn't see any type of light that was comparable to this type.

I have two corded fluorescent ones that must be around 15 years old now. Very handy but the cord can be a PITA when I just want to look behind the workbench for that dropped screw. Awesome for car work or BBQs since I don't need to worry about batteries and I like the color of light they put out. What I'm wondering is how blue is the light from these LED models? I have tons of LED flashlights and they all seem to wash out everything in blue. This can be a problem when working with color coded wiring.

Anyone know what kind of batteries it uses? I'm guessing NiMH, but what size and quantity? And has anyone opened one up to see how hard it would be to replace them? I replaced NiMH AA cells on my cordless shaver once and it was a PITA.

Also, the top negative review concludes after resolving problems found with the light: "My overall recommendation would be to pass on this work light and look closer at the rechargeable 35 LED work light model number 73904."
73904 is on sale from $34 to $15.74. But how does that person know it doesn't have the same problem?

I have it. It works great. It comes with a magnatic holder. So i just put the light up on my fridge. Just make sure you mark the charger saying it for the light else you'll lose it and not know how to recharge the light.

Over all its an awesome product. Although I bought it for $12 from a sears appliance store.

Sounds like you only buy the cheap LED flashlights, if you buy one that doesn't have the lowest quality LEDs, you will get a nice white light, not blue. I don't own this light, so can't comment on the color output.

Searching "LED REI" brings up the same thing as searching "REI LED." Still not seeing any lights like this one? Confused

How about being cool about it and just providing a link since you commenting on them being available from REI and being a better quality light?

I owned one... for about a week. These things are garbage. The clear plastic tube will shatter at the slightest bump. Don't waste your money. TONS of bad reviews, including this one:

1 star

Hard to use on/off button. Very very thin plastic shield broke immediately. Once cracked the entire bottom light fell out. Who would ever engineer an LED light to be held in place by a clear plastic tube? Save your money.

also like some people mentioned. the click button is a bit weird. i have 2 of these lights and 1 button is really stiff(requires alot of effort just to click it) and the other functions just fine.

Too bad we have no idea how many lumens this light gives off. Considering the Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern is a lot more rugged and one of the brightest portable lanterns in the market(although not rechargeable), it's probably a better value for $7 more:

http://www.amazon.com/Rayovac-Spo...amping+led

This lamp often goes on sale for about $18 at Amazon.

The Craftsman charge lasts for only 6 hours, which can be a pain at the most inopportune moment. The Rayovac with 3 D batteries will last more than 40 hours!
This is a very good light, but IMHO my cordless dewalt gives out more light. Maybe because it's more directional. I have a light fetish. So with my SYW points and discounts, I ordered one.

Hard to figure this one out. "Tons of bad reviews"

Looking at the 135 reviews on the Sears site, there are 97, 4 and 5 star reviews (5 star=65, 4 star=32). And there are 30, 1 and 2 star reviews (1star=17, 2 star=13).

Seems like the happy customers have it by about 3 to 1.

Maybe the instrument is just too complicated for some people.
