Pizza stones suck they break.. Cast iron will be here long after im dead and buried ,. This is them perfect item to cook pizza on the grill or fresh dinner rolls, anything really.. Cookies ,eggs, ...etc you get the picture. Had ceramic stone it sucks because its too fragile. Look forward to cooking on my gass grill lol
I own it... and, I like it-- a lot! A $5 frozen pizza tastes like $13 (at least). Add a bit of olive oil, a hot pan and a nearly defrosted frozen pizza. Then, taste the magic. So far, I've tried spinach/cheese, chicken/bacon and a thick-crust supreme.
Pizza aside, I've baked homemade biscuits and "griddled" chicken. Cast iron doesn't thermally "sink" in temperature when food is placed on/in it. I like my stainless-- and it has great uses. But, there's something about cast iron. Grandma and great-grandma were so right!
