Deal Details

Hi everyone,

I was going to wait until Memorial day weekend, but found this offer to good to pass up. I just picked up the following washer and dryer for $775 after rebates, both have great reviews.

Energy Efficient Washer: http://www.sears.com/maytag-3.6-c...ockType=G1

Dryer: http://www.sears.com/maytag-7.4-c...ockType=G3

They are already on sales at Sears.com for $584.99 a piece. Right now you can stack the "SAVENOW" code for 15% off the additional savings, along with "SEARS35OFF300AFFILIATEDEALS" for $35 off.

All of may is Maytag Month, so on the above models you can get a $200 rebate visa gift card by mailing in this rebate form: http://www.sears.com/ue/home/s_ma...050113.pdf

In all I paid $775 after taxes, even less if you live in a tax free state.Big Grin

Looks like a great deal. Any idea why the rebate lists the dryer as a top loader? Or did I read it wrong?

Is the rebate good with any merchant or just sears? Seems like a good deal though with the coupon codes too.

If you can wait till memorial day and try to get lowes to pricematch or home depot to price match. Which ever has better deals for memorial day. Stack military, veterans or mover coupon 10% and get 110% price match. Then mail in rebate for maytag and keep in mind in Texas memorial day weekend is Tax free on Energy Star appliances. You should be able to get 18 months or 24 month no interest during Memorial Day.

Air conditioners priced at $6,000 or less
Refrigerators priced at $2,000 or less

I've never heard of a top load dryer either, I'm just asking why the rebate says:

Top Load Dryers

I know it says Top Loader Dryers but the model numbers match the rebate form.

Home Depot, and Lowes both have the same rebate promotion going on, Sears just had the same model cheaper even before the 15% discount

Depends on your needs. Front loader washers used to be a little worse when it came to capacity (because of the agitator,) but I believe that's not longer the case. Front loaders are supposed to use less water (and soap) too.

I just bought this washer and have used it for two months now. The good thing about this machine is it uses very little water as it doesnt need to fill all the way to the top. I have not had any problems with white spots on clothing however my brother has had this problem so your mileage may vary. The washer in my opinion does clean cloths however I found that on normal settings the machine will eat buttons off dress shirts unless turned to low spin. My dad has not had this issue but I have on two shirts.

The other con for more people may be that you need to properly place the clothes on the outside of the drum, so you need to be careful when putting clothes into washer. The other con is the machine can become unbalanced very easily at times and makes a huge racket when it does, a super loud bang. The machine will still run it just makes a terrible loud sound. . So their you go my review of this machine. Also noise as I said before if it goes off balance it will be loud however when running it seems very low to me. Overall the machine is solid not super great but not bad just different.

I also used E*Bates for 5% cash back, but you can use discover, amex, etc... for that. In all I paid $775 after taxes, even less if you live in a tax free state.Big Grin
LOL, there is no Maytag.LMAO

Maytag was destroyed from the inside by the UAW. Subsequently, Whirlpool bought Maytag in 05-06. Whirlpool continued to produce 'real' Maytag appliances for the first year or two.

The current production "Maytag" machines (excluding 'Neptune' models, which still use Maytag designs and parts) are rebranded direct drive or new design belt drive Whirlpool machines with inflated prices.

Instead of buying this, buy Whirlpool branded Whirlpool and save $ or buy Speed Queen and get a better product.

Wouldn't it make more sense to buy the first one with 25% back in points the use the points to buy the second one with 15% off
