The Bug-A-Salt has continued to gain popularity as a fun way to get rid of insects in and around your house. It's a full size plastic, pump action, bug killing machine (no batteries needed). You just add some salt to the salt reservoir (good for 50 shots), pump the gun and shoot. Better than chemical sprays that might be harmful to humans and pets. Yes you have to clean up some salt if indoors but minor effort for the fun and satisfaction that you'll have. Bugs will have this face when staring down the barrel of the Bug-A-Salt gun: EEK!EEK!.

I got one and tried it. It works and it's fun. All my neighbors want one now. A good Father's Day novelty gift. I've bought a few for my buddies.

Cool but a bit pricey novelty. Hopefully this original is cheaper before the made in China copies.

Package looks like it weighs less than a pound. Is this shipped direct from China? I think I can wait for the 9.99 copy.]

Too bad its not long range. From the video (abc) it looks like you need to be within 2 feet. Most insects don't allow you to get too close.

That's funny comparing to a supposedly authorized wholesaler on ebay selling them at "distributor pricing" but is higher shipped.

Oh snap. Thanks to the zoom in feature, it does say on the packaging, "Made in China". wave

What is the accuracy range of the gun?
Within 3 feet is ideal. Practice accuracy by shooting aluminum foil to see salt spray pattern

Interesting enough for me to put in my shipping cart? Yes

Decided to by it? Yes

Did adding another $9.95 for shipping kill my plans to purchase? Yes

Oh, well, I will wait for the price to drop instead.

I bought a couple, good baby sitters. Nephew runs around shooting everything. You do have to get close.

*sigh*

I wonder why you can't leave it cocked. If it is a spring, having a load on it won't wear it out any quicker.

would it be safe on my lawn if I needed to kill bugs on it?

I bought one and safety didn't work...had to return it. Also, couldn't get my firearms lock to fit...won't be MA compliant Wink

I have one, bought one for my brother as well. It's a great novelty, my teenage kids get a kick out of it. It won't kill a larger wasp or hornet right away. It will stun them at point blank range, or tear their wings up. I have not had a chance to use it on a lot of flies yet, I got in early on the Indiegogo fundraiser and got free shipping. Yes they are made in China, hopefully he'll move tooling to US at some point. Packaging is overkill, and seems wasteful, but product quality and build seems good. Watch the network TV story about it, it's interesting to say the least, or check out his YouTube videos about the product development.

it should be safe if you're taking a few shots and a small amount of salt. if you're unloading on 100s of bugs with 100s of shots in the same area then it my affect your lawn. from what i've read and heard, it should be ok.
