Could we ( or Do we ) have a way of Ignoring ( blocking out ) PM's from another member but still being able to view their threads and posts??
I would like to suggest, if possible, a way ( perhaps there is one, but if so, I must have missed it ) to Ignore PM's from someone ( block out receiving PM's from that member, in other words ), but still be able to view their threads and posts??
I realize, of course, that I can just delete the person's PM's to me and not read them, but I would really just rather not even know they PM'd me at all. I would also like it if they would then get the hint when they couldn't PM me and got the error message, that they are therefore wasting their ( his/her ) time bugging me with multiple PM's. ( berating, arguing, insulting, whining, bitching, acting childish and petty, etc ) and perhaps need to let it ( whatever it is ) go completely.
I'm already aware that I can allow PM's only from my Buddy List, however this also blocks out new people ( who might later become my buddies ) from PMing me and that isn't really fair to them.
Is there some way of doing this ( blocking/ignoring PM's from an individual, but not block/ignore their threads from being viewable ) already available that I might have missed?? If not, then could I make this possible option a request that might be considered in the future??

If you want me to stop pming you, you just have to ask. sheesh
I thought you liked my pms.
Oh, I do....I do enjoy your PM's!! Although, um.......perhaps not the 25 or more a day you send me, and not quite so many complaining about how bad your husband's feet stink or how your mother-in-law won't go home and how your kids keep calling you "Mrs. Dufus"! I could also do without all the cursing, the off-color jokes, the nude photos you send me of David Letterman, and the insane talk of you and I staging a coup in order to take over Slick Deals. It also would help if you would give up on trying to con me out of my supply of membranes and rattling on about that damn cookie being missing from your Oprah Tote!
Other than that, I look forward to hearing from you!!
Just kidding. You never bother me. In fact, I don't think you've EVER sent me a PM!!! Or maybe you did and it was when I had you on my ignore list!!! ( I never did, actually). Hmm...now that I think about it, why haven't you written to me?? Don't love me like everybody else does, huh???? *sigh* Now my feelings are hurt!!
Well, dang. I was hoping it was the other way around.
Please add my suggestion to those for Mr. SlickDeals to consider, though, if you would. Just something or some way so that we can block out PM's from a specific user, ( temporarily until they calm down or give up trying to make a point ) but not block their posts or threads. I think adding this option would be appreciated by many here.
Yep, but like I said, that option leaves out many very nice people who haven't done anything to me, and I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings if they tried to PM me and instead got an error message saying they weren't allowed to. It looks kinda mean or maybe just snobbish to exclude people from PMing me for no reason other than my desire to avoid PM's from ONE person......... who isn't even one of them. They would have no idea what was going on and would maybe feel I was acting a wee "too big for my britches".
*sigh* Allowing only my buddy list to PM me just seems way too much like acting like I'm in a smug little "club" that excludes outsiders. That's not me, in any way whatever, so I don't want to give anyone that impression at all!!
