Staples Hyken chair: http://www.staples.com/Staples-Hy...uct_990119

It is unavailable online, but you can reserve it at your store. It's available at a lot of locations. Just went on sale yesterday (May 5th) for $149.99, from $229.99.

Use $75 Off coupon (just expired, should still work) to knock it down to $75.

Thanks for the info. I'll do the return/rebuy. Would knock it down to $80 or so. worship
Save yourself around another $30 by using the OD 20% coupon. It doesn't exclude furniture. Cool

P.S. - Recheck this post in a few. I'll scan my receipt for you and attach it to this post. Should help you get a manager to stack both, since (s)he'll see it was sold for lower a few weeks ago.

P.P.S. - Summary: the Hyken chair was on sale for $129.99 the week ending 04/27. The same week Staples put out their $75 off coupon HERE [staples.com], bringing down the price of the Hyken to $54.99. I then used a $10 off $50 Office Depot competitor's coupon to knock off another $10. Used my Rewards to complete the purchase a couple days after the sale was over; I'll spare the long story on why/how/etc., but it involved the manager remembering me visiting the store, asking a know-nothing gimp about the chair, coupons, and showing my receipt from the 27th. Just checked before I was about to head over to Staples, the price of the chair is back to $229.99 (and the coupon did say priced at $229 or above). Looks like a no go.

Thanks for the info anyways!

Well, I hope you did the return/rebuy on Saturday, as I suggested, using the OD $50 coupon. That would buy you some time on yet another return/rebuy should Staples put the Hyken on sale for next week, allowing you to use the $75 off coupon next Sunday/Monday.

P.S. - Next week's flyer should be out by Thursday, if history continues to repeat itself.

No worries. Like I said, I'm just really happy with the chair. I've been sitting on crappy chairs my whole life and this one really just helps me a lot.

I definitely see how I could've milked this deal a bit more. The method you were proposing was certainly YMMV (actually, so was the method I used), so in the end, just glad I got a deal.

Just a heads-up...The $75 off coupon that expires yesterday should still work Sun/Mon. So at this week's price of $149.99 - $75 coupon, your looking at $74.99. Might be able to stack a $10 off $50 coupon, if the register/cashier takes it. Good luck.

Where can you get the $75 off coupon?

I'm subscribed to the email newsletter, but I can't find the coupon that they're talking about. The most recent $75 off coupon expired on May 25, which seems like it's too old.

Made this work today @ $149 - $75 - $10, but it was a B$TCH! First called to find a store where they'd honor the expired $75 (5th store I called) and then went back and forth with the staff b/c they were interpreting the fine print as excluding discounted chairs ... showed them NewtonFine's receipt and that sealed the deal. They had to manual override everything and my receipt looks nothing like yours but I did get it for $70. Seems like a great chair at first use. But I gotta say, when you're paying 20% of retail for a quality product, POST IT, MAN, ASAP!! I've been looking for a mesh task chair for months. Reps anyway.

So glad it worked out for you. Great job making the deal happen for you outside of a sale, etc.; you rock as an SDer. worship Most people would have never even made such an attempt.

Getting the Hyken for under $100 makes it a steal. Except for a sweet deal I got on a $400-$600 Herman Miller a decade ago (got it for $75 from a used office supply store), this is easily the best chair I have ever bought for under $100.

I believe I definitely pushed my deal "out-of-bounds" by getting the manager to accept the $10 off $50 from OD, since it basically was a double-dip $-off coupon on the sale of just the chair. I believe I got away with it, since I had to return to the store (30 miles away) to make the deal happen.

Just as planets line-up to cause an eclipse every so often, Staples had aligned "the stars" on the sale price and releasing the $75 off coupon at the same time. I can't see why that might not happen again. When it does, I will definitely pick up another one.

P.S. - Yeah, sorry for not posting when I realized "the stars" had aligned. Since it wasn't tech and my first Staples furniture purchase, it didn't "excite" me until I finally assembled it a few days later (and realized it was quality/solid). My old chair literally was falling apart, so for me especially "the stars" thing seriously called out to me.

Thanks, hi-fives all around, guys. Glad the OP brought you out of the shadows and thanks again for posting the receipt! bounce Like the OP, this is also my 1st "good" chair ... I've been saved from a 10-yr old secretarial HON, itchy cloth, no armrests, lots of wobble -- just pure hell. Hence the extra effort on my part. Wink

You know my buddy got one of the original HM's he paid $1,200 for a decade ago, and I've used it, it's nice, but this Hyken is a like a glove for me. I'm just gonna lie back now ... Big Grin

Newbie with an update! Staples has an upcoming sale July 7th-13th where this chair is on sale for $149.99 and they're also offering a $50.00 off any chair regularly priced at $169 and above. My only concern is that the $50.00 off coupon states "Excludes already discounted chairs" not sure how this is going to work but i'm going to give it a try this weekend.

Will the 20% off work on top of that?

150 - 20% = 120 - 50 = 70 - 15 (for me, groupon deal) = 55....

that would be sweeeeeeeeeeet.
