Last month I was looking to buy a portable air conditioner. I bought and have had this for a little over a month and it has been working great since. It gets cold, is quiet and the only 12K BTU portable air conditioner around this price range that I could find. Considering I've had it for less than a month I can not say much about reliability. All of my Lowes near me have it instock.

All the Lowe's near me have it for $299 online, does it show for $399 at your stores online, but $299 in store?

For me it is only shows the in store price @ $298. I live in Hawaii so that might be why online purchasing is not available since shipping would probably cost more than the item itself.

Does anyone know anything about this brand. Is it on par with Haier?

IMO its built more solid than Haier and I haven't experienced any problems that others have with Haier portable air conditioners like the compressor constantly turning off when the tank is full since this unit evaporates through the exhaust unless you leave it on constantly which I do and still have not had to use the drain hose. Only thing I can see that it doesn't have that I have seen on other brands is the ability to oscillate and is not energy star certified. Performance wise I would say it on par with a good 10K btu window unit which usually gets a decent sized area pretty cold.

Strange since Hawaii prices usually incur additional charges due to the shipping and processing that it takes to get the item to Hawaii. Sorry I thought this was the regular pricing but I guess it varies depending on store location.

When I bought mine I saw that model at the price you just mentioned along another Idylis 12000 btu which was a lot more than the one I was looking for. I had to ask one of the workers if they had the one I found online available. They had to lower and unload a crate to get it for me so I assumed it was a newer model of the ones that were priced higher on the floor since they did not have it on display yet and my store showed 30 units in stock at the time.

Can I use it as a heater in the winter and pipe the cold air outside and let it blow hot air inside?

It is not a heater but can be used to dehumidify.

How do you think it would generate hot air?

all air conditioners generate hot air as well as cool air, that is why you need a way to pipe the hot air outside
