TomatoUSB (and DD-WRT) Flashing Instructions along with how to install Apple AirPlay on this router:
http://blog.qnology.com/2012/12/t...tousb.html

Instructions for setting up Apple AirPrint and Google CloudPrint:
http://blog.qnology.com/2013/03/t...tousb.html

Note AirPrint and AirPlay cannot be setup on the same router. Its one or the other.

Get two routers and setup a Site to Site VPN using OpenVPN in less than 30 minutes:
http://blog.qnology.com/2013/02/t...te-to.html

After dd-wrt is installed, printer setup is easy and can be done with no hacking:
1. Log into the router (192.168.1.1) and go to services -> USB. Enable Core USB support. Apply.
2. Enable USB printer support. Apply. Plug printer into router.
3. Go to Printers in Windows, Add a Printer, Network/wireless/bluetooth printer.
4. Choose "printer I want is not listed."
5. Choose "Add using TCP/IP Hostname." Enter IP address of your router (usually 192.168.1.1).
6. Choose printer brand/model to add drivers. Proceed even if it says there's an error and printer can't be found.
7. Print test page. Done.

Looks to be a nice deal. Decisions, decisions... Smilie

Ok, quick advice from Wifi gurus around here. I currently have the D-Link D601 in the house, but one of our laptops has seen some issues with the connection dropping every so often (maybe once every couple days, on a Lenovo). My Asus has been fine, but I don't use it as much -- no issues on my tablet or phone, but again not sure if I'm just not online to see it.

We currently have the following devices running on the network:
-Two laptops (soon to be three)
-Two phones
-One tablet
-Two printers (might be three shortly, though one is connected on the LAN)
-One Bluray player, but I may connect that over the LAN

Any recommendations on whether this Belkin would be an upgrade? I've been considering a MIMO/N300 router to improve range and connection, but I'm not sure if I need to. I'm concerned about capacity with all the different devices, though most aren't used simultaneously -- the laptops would probably be the only things used at the same time if all three of us were on them. We don't game, at least not FPS or anything like that. Video streaming could be an addition in the future, though right now I only occasionally watch something on my tablet and don't see any issues with HBO GO.

The one issue is the connection dropping with my wife's Lenovo, and if I could improve that, it would be worth the upgrade. Would flashing the D601 to DD-WRT improve on that, or is that hardware related? Thanks in advance!

Hasn't been mentioned yet, but very poor reviews generally with stock firmware. So it's only really a slick deal if you are planning on using a community developed firmware like tomato.

Also, decent price but not amazing. $24.27, fulfilled by Amazon (free shipped with $1 filler), pick from several sellers. One even for $25.89, a little more but don't need a filler for free shipping.

I have this running great with ddwrt no reboots. I even have my (non-network) printer attached to it via usb and have it doing print jobs wireless through the router. And even runs an FTP server. There's so much more you can run on this.

Great deal. Might even pick up another as a repeater

Only negative is no gigabyte Frown

Depends on what the issue is, so only real way to see if DD-WRT firmware would help is to try it.
As to whether the Belkin N300 would be an improvement over your DLink N150, I'd say maybe not. Despite the N150-N300 improvement, you're loosing the higher gain of the external antenna on your DLink (unless you go through the added pain and cost of attaching an external antenna to the Belkin.)
IMO if you're going to upgrade, look for something more, like a N600 dual band (though you'll of course pay more for it.)

Several more negatives than that. No 5GHz, no dual band, more limited memory then higher end models -> less room for additional flash ROM options, no external antenna so more limited range than models with, and others... Mostly kinda meaningless if they're things you don't need, but still are negatives.
