how do you turn the front screen off?
There is a 'switch' on the left-hand side. To switch between tablet and laptop modes.

yet another overpriced machine due to the specs that ppl really wont take any advantage of. slapped in an i7, yet which provides no real advantages over cheaper i5 deviates. smart buyers knowing that did not purchase this version, thus going on sale at dealfishers.

its still over priced though.

11.6 inch screen for a laptop is no fun, regardless of whether it serves as tablet as well!

thats what they said about ivy. why wait if this suits your purpose now, other than being a part of the up and up.

specs-wise, definitely. Except the darn 4gigs of ram....
You'd think $1000+ computers would throw you a bone and put the extra $10 worth of RAM in, but noooope. Lenovo Helix is the only computer so far that has absolutely everything I want
  • 1920x1080 or higher screen
  • 8GB RAM or more
  • Core i5 or higher
  • Wacom pen
  • Detachable convertible tablet
  • Extra battery in keyboard dock
  • 256GB+ SSD

Ideally I'd want 16GB RAM but everything else checks out and 8GB is fine. 4GB is pathetic. Open Chrome and 8 tabs and you're almost full already.

I have one and really like it. I was surprised out how easy and smooth the windows 8 gestures work in tablet mode. The 4gb of ram is my only real complaint with a powerhouse like this. The screen is a bit small to stare at all day, but the smaller size helps it work well as a tablet too.

Nope, not a fan of Macs period. Smilie HP turned me off of 11.6 laptops with the TX-2500z (yuck). I do have a Vizio CT14-A0 I haven't opened yet that has a gorgeous screen and I have a tf300 for my tablet needs (going to change for note 10.1 soon).

any reasonable person unless really tight on budget usually all go for the 13 inch.

I agree, either a 10 tablet or a 13" or higher laptop. Yet you have folks who still spend $1k for this guy

yeah notice "reasonable" people in my comment...lol

even if they're virtually homeless always on the road, theres just no sense in going the 11 inch route for the air, unless it was like $3~400 bucks cheaper

BUMMER! When i saw "Dual Screen" I was imagining a laptop that had 2 screens like on my desk. What a waste! These have not been doing that well, i dont know why they did not figure out how to use one screen that swivels or something. The inner screen is not touch screen, so sort of not cool. Frown

How does 1920x1080 look on a 11.6" screen in Desktop mode?
Just adjust scaling so desktop elements will look bigger. The increased resolution will make everything look very sharp and beautiful.
