Is AC client support common?

I couldn't find any msata AC network cards... which is preferable over PCIe

So for current 'N' performance, is this as good as or any better than the current N version ( RT-N66U) ?
From the 285+ posts about the N66U version, it seems that one is more stable than this AC router. Numerous complaints of dropped wifi signals. People also mentioned that AC is still in draft stages, and discussed waiting until it's a standard. Not sure why the N66U would be more stable than the AC for broadcasting an N signal though, but that's what was discussed.

I just bought the N version and couldn't be happier. The signal is unbelievable in my house (no more dead spots) and is rock solid.

I just got this. Using their beta firmware right now. I can't tell if I love it or if I'm just okay with it. It replaced a Buffalo GNH that was running DD-WRT which I was really impressed with.
Upgrade to Merlin firmware. You wouldreally love it. Mine is rock solid after the upgrade.

I saw this in my email earlier this morning, and swore under my breath a little when I saw it. After waiting for 4-6 months to see if the price dropped, I ordered it from newegg for $171 last week, and it was delivered less than 48 hours before they dropped the price another $20.

Oh well.

How old were those posts that had the complaints. There is at least one review out there that states the early firmwares (from last summer) were not very stable, but almost everything was resolved by Oct or Nov ...

I have two of these routers in my house (one is the U and one is the R) with the same firmware rev on 'em and I have zero problems with any of the 8 PCs, 2 phones, or two tablets. The speed is pretty phenomenal. My connections don't ever drop or degrade over long file transfers (not that even a 5GB mkv file takes long around 45MB/s transfer rate.

Dude... time to hop on Newegg chat. I got the difference back:

You are welcome and thank you for holding. Please kindly note that all of our pricing and promotions are listed online, Due to the constant fluctuation of prices in this market we cannot offer any price guarantees. This (exception) is normally outside of our standard policy/process. However, we value you as a customer of Newegg and I really want to help resolve your situation so I have issued you a $18 credit into your account to honor new promotion code and price difference for you this time. It will take 3-5 business days for the funds to be posted onto your original payment method.
thanks for the idea. I just did that, but all they would give me is a code for an $18 credit that expires after 90 days Frown

Ugg, sorry to hear that. Still, I'm sure you could find something to buy. One idea, you could buy another router while it's on sale and return the one you have. You'll pay a 15% restock fee but it might even out.
