I know nothing about car seats. We just bought one from costco for $60 that looks pretty similar to this. Can someone point out to a layman what spending more than 2x on this one would get me? Does it come with a tv? Jet pack? Toaster? Microwave? Ejection button? What warrants more than 2x the price?
We have this Britax. We also probably have the same one from Costco.

They're both nice and I'm sure would work essentially the same, but this deal's seat fits rear-facing in the center position of our mid-size car where other seats won't easily fit. Research this on your own, but Britax also allows driver/passenger seat backs to touch this child seat. When I was researching before we bought I saw many that didn't allow that.

We have the Costco seat forward-facing in the coupe. We'd originally bought it for our main car, but it took up a lot of room. It was moved to the coupe, and we bought this Britax after trying it out at babiesRus.

The $200 seat definitely seems better made, but the most important part for us was fitting one safely in our car.

Good luck and have fun.

One last thing to all you new parents: buy a cheap day planner and write down one thing your child does each day right before you go to sleep. Nothing big, just a sentence or two. It's easier to stay in the habit that way, and it's wonderful to go back and read later.

For those who are interested in the britax advocate and have a buy buy baby near by, my local one price matched amazons sales price and the 20% coupon (so i didnt have to surrender or find a BBB non expired coupon) - great if you dont have amazon prime/mom - i had store credit from bed bath and beyond and used it to pay for the purchase partially Smilie

the biggest plus? the "exclusive" version from BBB comes with cup holder $12-$15 and a storage pouch

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...PDKIKX0DER

i just picked up two at $198.26 each + tax (amazon charges tax in Cali anyways)
printed out the cheapest priced advocate color (Opus grey - yesterday) $247.83
- 20% promo $49.57
Total: $198.26

plus a free cup holder from the BBB exclusive advocate Smilie https://www.buybuybaby.com/produc...=41093658&

http://www.amazon.com/Britax-USA-...y_ba_img_z

and the storage pouch

$8-$10

To each their own, the Evenflo seats we have for our son are easy to adjust compared to the Britax.

The problem lies is the fact that if you need to loosen the belts, say because your child has a coat on today and didn't the last time they used the seat, you need to rebuckle the chest harness then pull it out and unbuckle it again. While juggling your child in your arms. Our Evenflo isn't like this, you can loosen it unbuckled and it is much easier to let the child sit in the seat while you adjust the straps.

As for the HUGS system, I find I have to "saw" the buckle up and down on the strap to pull it out anything more than a small adjustment.

If you expect to be able to loosen the chest harness on this seat while your child is sitting in it, then this isn't the seat for you.
fair enough. Just goes to show there are a lot of good seats to choose from out there.

I looked at the 5 categories and 3 of them have only 1 product each - all very expensive - how does one get around that?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature....&plgroup=5

So you have to get an eligible car seat worth $277 to get a $190 car seat
And also get a $314 eligible carrier along with another large accessory (also with just one option left now) for $314.

Too late to do this promotion?

If you have to readjust the straps to fit their coat, then the coat is too bulky and shouldn't be worn while the child is in the seat.

We have 6 of these, paid slightly more per... Well worth it. Dont skimp on on a car seat.

That's not fair to say. A $40 scenera could fit a child and the car better than a $500 foonf. They all pass the same safety standards required.

Hmm, doesn't seem like the coupon works for this particular car seat anymore. Did they only allow the coupon on a limited number.
