I love my Y500. Screen is clear as hell!!!! Don't know what your talking about there buddy! I also asked Lenovo to give me a price adjustment as I bought the Lenovo a few weeks ago for $849 or $839. Waiting on their approval. Hopefully it should go through as they are the same model with the same specs as before.

The tax really sucks and kills the deal...
Hey all, heard that today people have been able to get 10% off when they sign up for the Lenovo email newsletter... I can't verify this but worth trying if you're gonna grab this, which I would highly recommend if you're thinking of it.. Love mine!

I returned my Y500, did not like the windows 8 at all. Touchpad was driving me crazy. The red backlit keyboard reflects onto the screen also. Will probably sell my Macbook pro and upgrade to a new Macbook. Much, much better build quality, lighter, better screen, longer battery life, and better backlit keyboard. The operating system is much bettter also. Doubt you can sell a Y500 and get any money back after 2 years. They cant sell them now on ebay for $650 refurbs with warranty. I paid $850 for my Macbook Pro 2 years ago open box slick deal. Can get $700 - $750 now for it used.

Yes the specs are alot worse. But the Macbook pro works and looks alot better. The main thing the Y500 is good for is gaming. The laptop is heavy to keep on your lap, short battery life also. You can only play games if the laptop is plugged in which means no portability. Forget about resale value there will not be any.

There will be refurbs for the Y500 at around $500 if you really want one, just wait and see!
I have flipped enough lenovo's to know all about them. I have bought I 3's for $225, and I 5's for $331. I was not impressed with the Y500 at all JMHO.

I picked up the Y400 this week for $799 shipped, opted for it over the Y500 just because I really don't like anything larger than 14", can't stand the full sized keyboards on the larger laptops as it sorta off centers the touchpad, spacebar, etc so I always mistype on it. Anyway I love the thing, it replaced my HP DM4 Beat Edition 14" as my primary laptop. The gaming performance is incredible, very happy with it, been gaming all weekend on it. Only complaint I have is the screen feels flimsy compared to my DM4, it's plasticy and wobbly, but it's pretty minor, I still think it was an incredible deal. I got it only 2 days after ordering too, couldn't believe how quick it got here. Very satisfied, highly recommended wether you get a Y400 or Y500, great deal all around!
