I have one of their cheap plastic tough solar/wave ceptor/ etc and it's been doing great since about 2005, though it now finally needs a new battery but still works OK.
I wear it for work and it's beat to crap but everything still does what it should and it even survived a 20 foot fall better then I did and was still working when I woke up in the trauma center with a broken arm and concussion and broken sinus bone.
It's very similar to this one and I also have a dressy version I bought about 2008 with analog and digital display I mostly wear when I want to look nice and it's also SS with the bits of plastic on it. Like said they use the plastic to protect the mechanism and yes it's not fully metal but I'd get another one in a heart beat. They really hold up well and even the batteries are available cheap enough on eBay when it finally eats one.
sounds like a good deal on this watch. i have had excellent results with casio watches since i was a teenager. great outdoors watches. hard to beat unless you just really like paying a lot more like for a suunto. not saying suunto is a waste of money but when i compared features i found casio offered what i needed at a much more reasonable price.
... my pathfinder titanium[amazon.com] still going strong! Best golf watch ever, super light and indestructible ... these appear to be of similar design, perhaps a bit heavier due to SS vs Titanium, but a great watch for $100.
