During the last few free previews I could not get my radio to receive them. I have called Sirius/XM Customer Care a few times, but no one can concretely tell me why there is a problem. A couple times I got transferred to technical support who tells told me that some vehicles don't support the frequency required for the preview.
I have a 2010 truck that received Sirius until about 9 months before the first preview (first year free with new vehicle). I have a friend with the same make, model and year truck with the same stereo and they get the previews no problem. I have been told by technical support that the satellite receiver could be different despite everything else being the same and that is why I cannot get the preview.
Usually the support folks kindly offer me 6 months for $25 though. It is interesting that I can pay for the service, but not get it during the free trial. I am not too excited to pay for a supposedly free trial so I decline.

This would be nice, if I didn't already get my sirius free ;-) Look for used sat receivers at garage sales and flea markets. All the ones I have found have had lifetime subs, Maybe I have just been lucky, I now have one in the house and one in the car. I sold the third one plus accessories on Ebay and made enough to pay for the others and still come out way ahead. SD'ers, don't forget about the old fashioned way to SD...Garage Sales!!!
