Nice powerful machine, you would not save much at all building one yourself.

The Envy Sandybridge config seems like the better deal right?

Does the video card on either machine support dual monitors? (DVI)

Video cards and power supplies of both machines deserve only being sent to trashcan on arrival.

I believe both those video cards (I at least know the 7670 will) support dual monitors, but they're still trash. They aren't up to ~5000 specs even theyre just branded ~7***

on the surface yes but the 3rd gen CPU is better, more powerful, less power consumption, but the newer adobe software and more disk space kind of make up for it, so depending on what is more important to you, Google it or go to cpuboss.com to compare the differences. also usually u can get the bundle adobe software for about 100 on sales, which is quite frequent. also it is easier for u to add HD down the line if u need more space, so Google it and see which box suite or needs better

I have this PC, it's awesome. I installed an EVGA GTX 660 in it (I upgraded my 300 watt psu to a corsair 500 watt psu too) and it's amazing. Looks damn sexy too.
