I've been looking to buy an Escort Passport 9500ix for a few months but finally just caved and bought a brand new one on ebay for $435 last week. I know these have been $379 in the past, but waiting had already cost me 3 speeding tickets, LOL. shake head

Anyway, you can pick up a 9500ix for only $405 from Radarbusters.com by using the following discount code: "radarroy".

http://www.radarbusters.com/searc...ix&x=0&y=0

$450 (sale price) - 10% discount code = $405 + free FedEx 1-Day Shipping
(Tax only in CA, NE, and OH)

It's too late for me to jump on this deal, but it may be able to save someone else a few bucks!

*edit*
For those of you curious about the quality of this radar/laser detector, this detector has consistently been ranked in the "top tier" of detectors for the past few years in several different independent tests. Here's one example ranking 10 different radar detectors in 2013: http://radar-detectors-review.toptenreviews.com/ Of course, take this review with a grain of salt. The 9500ix and V1 are generally neck-and-neck in other tests I've seen.

Also, it MAY be possible to stack urlhasbeenblocked.com's 8% cashback referral link, but it's definitely YMMV. If the 8% cashback is stackable, then the new total comes down to $373.

It's too late for me to jump on this deal, but it may be able to save someone else a few bucks!
Is this "the best" radar?

Thanks, this is a great deal. It's dropped to $449 across the board. Wonder if a newer model is coming out.

Drugstore is currently offering additional 5% on top of $449, making it $427 and $22 (5%) in drug store dollars. Am thinking of holding out for 10% or more discount + drugstore dollars, which will make it a sweeter deal.

worth upgrading from RX65? looks like this is more feature packed and performs quite a bit better, but it's another $200 after reselling the 65

no speeding tickets since I purchased the 65 for $190 so overall I'm very happy Smilie

Is it the best?
It depends.
I wanted GPS to filter out false signals so this is the one I went with.
One of the main features on this unit.
no regrets on getting it.
Been using mine for about 7 months.
Love it and I wouldn't want anything else currently.

still the best radar in the market for all around driving -- gps lockout is a feature that puts this on a different level and it's patented so you won't see anyone else releasing anything similar
Picked up the IX in in '09 for $360 with Bing CB Big Grin

That chart seems way off, I can't speak for the newer beltronics/passports but I have an 8500 x50 and V1 (v1.7) and recently drove from Austin to San Diego with both running. I'd definitely say that the V1 is better than the x50 in just about every way. I'd imagine the newest version of the V1 (v1.85) would perform even better. (I know beltronics recommends you shouldn't test radar detectors side by side, but that's a different story)

That chart also has cobra performing better than the V1, I'm guessing it's a chart of "who donated the most $$$ to the reviewer" and Valentine labs didn't want to play...

Yeah, I agree regarding the V1 ranking in that list. IMO, V1 and 9500ix are arguably the best two detectors in this price range.

As I said, anybody interested in this should do their research on several different review sites/forums. You'll see that the 9500ix/V1 are generally at the top of the rankings, and each has its strengths and weaknesses. IMO, you can't go wrong with either.

Personally, I couldn't get over the outdated aesthetic styling of the V1 whereas the black/blue color scheme of the 9500ix matches the interior of my Lexus ISF much better. I was also willing to sacrifice a little radar range from the V1 in exchange for fewer false alerts from the 9500ix.

How are you getting the 429 price? I get 20% employee discount on the site, as i work for the parent company. However, it on drops 90 off the site, bringing it to 360+25 in tax= 385. Its taking the discount off the full price of 450. (If it wasn't for the tax, I would just jump on it now.)

Does anyone know the cheapest price from this site? If it was 379, it would be 303 + 21 tax = 324, which I'd definitely jump on immediately, even with the tax being against my slickdeal instincts of never paying tax on electronics. Thanks in advance for any feedback
