your link doesn't work, because of the two http://
correct link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PJ4Q4A/

Retail packaging requires 1-2 days of additional processing, by Amazon Frustration Free packaging is all set to get shipped out ASAP... but it looks like a great price. ty OP

Newer model for same price:

Is there actually a newer model? When I go to logitech.com [logitech.com] they only show one part number PN 910-002896.

I'm thinking the other part number (910-003040) is just for Amazon Frustration-Free packaging? Could be wrong though.

Yeah, I think you're probably right.

Yes, really. If you can provide a better price for this item right now, feel free to contribute to the community. If you cannot, then why criticize?

They've been on sale at Costco for about $33 for the past few months, but this is (obviously) better and for some no tax!

I do have a question: What are the differences between the models? The OP shows 910-002896 and someone linked to 910-003040 (which only came out a few months after the OP) and the one I bought from Costco is 910-003194. Anyone know the differences? I believe they're all the "glossy" version (which some people have a love/hate relationship with) but I was curious if there were any other differences.

To summarize:
Two models on amazon: 1. The "older" Logitech 910-002896 ($39.49) and 2. Logitech 910-003040, which is described as newer ($59.94).
Reponse:
Both Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX models have the same features, the only difference is that one model was manufactured before 2009 using a different P/N and the other model was manufactured after that year.

The model available in our website (logitech) is the one with the P/N 910-002896.

to add, here is a SD post that confirms that the 002896 is the 2nd gen: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=51924880&postcount=43
so obviously the 003040 is the 3rd gen, with costco's being the 4th gen...
(but i doubt they introduced new features. Maybe small changes like grooves, etc. but hardly noticeable stuff)

Thanks! After I posted I tried to google and found that thread too. I thought the Anywhere MX made before 2009 were the matte versions. They switched to the glossy sometime early last year. I loved the matte version, except I had a few that would start having a double-click problem. Logitech is odd sometimes lol

Works on one or two batteries so you can adjust its weight that way. The on and off switch on the bottom is pretty clever because it shields the laser in the off position. Very handy when I store it in my backpack with sharp objects like pencils. The only cons are that I wish the side buttons were a little bigger and had more feedback instead of being a bit "mushy" and the battery life. Mine lasts an average of 1.5 months using two batteries, so buying rechargeable batteries like eneloops are recommended.
