Word of caution from banjolaya on post #77:

Word of caution: Before you buy OOMA go to pingtest.net and test your packet loss, ping and jitter.
If you have any packet loss - this might not be for you.
If you have high ping - OOMA might not be for you.
If your jitter is greater than 5 - this is definitely not for you.
There are multiple postings online about OOMA and jitter. The problem comes and goes. Some say it's your IP provider's fault (faulty lines leading to your home), IP provider customer service says - It's not us, it's your modem. You can google this issue and you'll find that some people had real problems with it (myself included).

Free calls for life. You pay the taxes and fees ($3.71/month for my area): https://go.ooma.com/tax_calculator

I wish I could get my mom to switch to something like this.. She refuses tho saying she doesn't trust anything over a POTS line. She pays 30 bucks a month + long distances.. What a fail if you ask me.

Sort of. You need to pay local taxes. If you go to the Ooma Web site, you're able to estimate the monthly taxes for your area.

I have a much older Ooma system before the taxes came into affect. I pay nothing at all, and I get free calls, caller ID, and voice mail. It's awesome. As long as my box keeps working, I'll keep getting free for life...

I'm finally getting my parents to switch to it. They've been using a borrowed Obi110 of mine for some calls, and it's worked pretty well so far.

Seems like a good price for new Ooma. I assume Costco one don't force you to sign up for the Premier Service.

They have a lifetime return policy, correct? So, if it ever stops working, I can ship it back?

thank you OP for posting this, I got a PM adjustment from my earlier order at Staples.
I bought mine from Staples.com on Sunday. What did you tell them and how much price adjustment did you get? Thanks.
