Target has the official Barnes and Noble Nook HD/HD+ chargers and HDMI adapter on sale:

$14.99 Car Charger [target.com]
$14.99 AC Charger [target.com]
$29.99 HDMI Adapter [target.com]

Both chargers include a spare 5ft Nook cable as well.

A Nook cable will not charge the tablet without a compatible charger. Most chargers aren't.

Available both online and in many stores.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

My Nook HD+ charges fine off of my HP TouchPad AC adapter, so I would guess that the reverse would be true, and that the TouchPad would charge off of the Nook adapters.

I gave in and bought two of the car chargers because my existing 2.1amp chargers didn't work with the Nook.

While at this point it is very YMMV, Staples has had the B&N AC chargers and "Groovy" cases on clearance for $5 a pop for a few weeks now. My Staples still has some cases left.

As an FYI: The Nook HD+ in the official "Groovy" case will fit snugly inside the Verizon leather and nylon "Envelope" case with hotspot pocket [amazon.com]. My hotspot fits in the pocket, so it works out quite nicely.

As for the Nook HD+ itself, honestly, it's the best tablet you can buy for under $200 (new). The screen is stellar, the speed is acceptable, the "Nooked" Android is tolerable after the official Google Play Store was added, and while it lacks cameras, NFC, dual-band WiFI, GPS, wireless charging, a light sensor, and I'm sure something else... honestly, for the price, it doesn't matter. The most important thing for most people is the build quality and screen, and both are just great.

Hope posting the chargers helps someone out. Enjoy!

To the person that voted "Not a good price"...

Pray tell, where can you find it for less that isn't a VERY YMMV clearance price?

Particularly the car charger, would LOVE to get two for $5 and return the ones I bought to Target.

Do keep in mind that most chargers will NOT work with the Nook, and that while there are many many chargers listed on Amazon and such, it's an open question which will and won't work.

I think the important thing here isn't the charger... but the damn proprietary cable Wink Am I not the only one who wants a spare cable to carry in laptop bag for those times you end up using the tablet more than you had planned?

Are there any sources for good quality cables? $15 isn't that bad, but cheaper would be of interest Wink

I've got a pile of chargers, including several 2.1 amp ones both for the car and wall outlet. The only chargers the Nook works on are the official B&N Nook chargers, and the HP TouchPad charger.

So, unfortunately the cable in your laptop bag won't do you a lot of good without a compatible charger.

Oh, and the chargers (car and wall) do come with 5ft cables. So your getting both.

It's why I picked up a couple AC chargers at Staples when they clearanced them out last month ($5 each). The chargers will work with future devices (everything I've tried on a Nook or TouchPad charger has charged) and I've got a few spare cables now too.

Thanks for the heads up. I got MEDGE and B/N Groovy cases from Staples. But I need an (2) extra chargers for tablet and Car Charger. This is more convenient than ordering from TigerDirect. Plus I can use my RedCard. Thanks again. I bought the Nook HD+ for an aunt from B/N. Then I realized it was gift for overseas. It won't meet her daughters needs. I guess I am stuck with it. I am just going to keep it and try to root the darn thing. Great screen. I have (2) iPads, Nexus 7 and a ghetto ChiPad from McBub. This has a great screen. I was reading some comics and the screen is awsome.

TigerDirect only has the AC charger. I did search before posting my deal, and that one hadn't been listed yet. (I searched Google as well Smilie ). For folks that don't mind waiting and don't have a RedCard (and for a spare charger, that ought to be most folks) it's about $2 cheaper.

I don't know of a cheaper place with the car charger, it doesn't seem to have been carried in as many stores.

I forgot to charge the Nook overnight a couple of times and ended up charging it with the AC charger plugged into the DCtoAC cigarette lighter adapter, and it was just a tangled mess. It was worth $15 to not have to do that again, and another $15 to not have the problem again if the first one dies Smilie

When I was looking at tablets, I only looked at the Nook HD+, the Kindle HD 9", the Transformer Infinity, and the Nexus 10. Specifically because of the screens. It makes a really big difference when reading magazines (and comics Smilie ). The Nook and the Kindle are both better than the Infinity and N10 for that, because the screens are that little bit more square, so there's less wasted blank space. They also happen to be less than half the price.

I tried the Nook, the Kindle, and the N10. Was trying to love the N10 (which kept crashing LogMeIn) and finding it hard to do so for the almost $1,000 price (accessories, case, some insurance in case it got crunched, etc.). Particularly with the poor build quality. (Screen was not uniformly lit, case bent and creaked, etc. Typical Samsung.) "Kindledroid" sucks, KindleCyan was better but had issues. Nookdroid was almost as bad.

When Nookdroid opened up to include official support the Google Play store, and dropped to $216 out the door at Best Buy, I decided to give it a 2nd look. I was able to use all my work apps on it stock, not rooted or modified, the 2 weeks with the N10 made me realize that I rarely used GPS, cameras, or NFC on a tablet, so the lack of those things didn't matter... and the Nooks build quality is excellent, particularly the screen.

And, heck, for $216 (cheaper now) it didn't have to be perfect, and was more than "good enough". I really like it, and sort of feel like I won the TouchPad lottery a 2nd time Smilie

I'm going to stick with stock Nookdroid for the forseable future (Cyanogen's battery life is soso, and there are some other issues too I think.), but will use one of the kits to enable sideloading apps. That way I can add the Amazon Appstore and sideload the occasional app that can't be installed because the Nook isn't listed as compatible. (I'd like to at least see if it will work or not.)

I figure I'll either sell it for not much less than I paid for it and upgrade next year, or put a picture frame around it and use it as a fancy alarm clock or something. Smilie

Honestly, while tablets are still getting faster, I think their "good enough" much in the same way computers have become, and I think the Nook will remain useful for quite some time.
