The knockoff cables may not fit like the oem apple cable. The knockoff cable I have does not have the same resistance when I plug it in the phone or when I unplug it. I avoid using it.
Knockoffs are fine to me as long as I can't tell the difference.
Yep. Some people don't realize that the overpriced cables have a strict set of dimensianal tolerances, which are crucial in mimizing excessive wear on the internal pins of the iPhone lightening connector. Many of the chinese ones "don't fit right." Snug = excessive wear on your 600$ device. WHile we are on the subject: the quality of a knock off A/C adapter is also exposing you to the risk of damaging your device due to a lack of QC which can result in over voltage, etc.
I am ALL FOR cheap cables. I buy 3$ minijack, HDMI, etc. Sometimes, "deals" may cost you more later.
