no you did not need the over-priced filter, the 50 off 100 is worth the wait
What makes you think 50 off 100 is coming back? I have a feeling that they caught on, and the 50 off 125 will be the norm going forward except on special occasions. Why else would they change it in the first place?

I rarely use TRT41 anyways. The only time I do that is with batteries. Anything that costs more than like $70 would be much cheaper purchasing it online, or you could save more money by splitting it up into multiple orders.

No matter what you think of parts from Advance, these coupons make them the best for batteries, oil, filters, etc. However, I do love Autozone's computer system that keeps track of all my purchases for me as well as the warranties.

If Advance is purging warranty information after 12 months it is only in the hope everyone loses their receipts as disk storage is dirt cheap.

Good deal but Advance lost me as a customer several years ago. As a warning to others, here's why:

I once bought a starter with a lifetime warranty for a '70 VW Beetle. After pulling the third one off the car in two months I had them test the part before I took it out of the store. Two were out of box failures and the third showed signs of imminent failure. Number four tested out fine. To whoever bought that car after I sold it: I'm sorry.

More recently, my wife had a Taurus with a bad water pump. We bought a lifetime warranty part from Advance to replace it. About six months later we bought a new alternator for it, again from Advance. The alternator caught fire after three weeks. It was incredibly difficult to get a refund for it even though two more alternators fresh out of the box failed when put on the test machine. A few months later the water pump failed - 13 months after the purchase date. We didn't have the receipt handy, but I figured they could just look it up in the computer. Wrong. I was told that they purge their warranty information 12 months after the purchase date and that if I couldn't produce the receipt I'd need to pay for a new water pump.

I buy everything from AutoZone now and don't have these problems.
I don't touch auto zone with a ten foot pole for two reasons.
1. their treatment of deployed reserve personnel
2. thier firing of an employee who used the firearm legally kept in his car to save his store manager's life during an armed robbery. As well as their no concealed weapons on premises policy. ill shop advance thanks

Not bashing the deal, but I sat and waited out these coupons. I have 2 vehicles that need tuneups, so I was excited to see my alert go off. I quickly put my parts in my cart, $125 at a time to get them for $75. As I was about to hit "submit" I decided to punch a part number into Ebay. Sure enough, they came up cheaper. To be fair, the difference was hardly noticeable after the coupon (about 2% cheaper on Ebay but more difficult to return), but sales tax gave Ebay the edge....so if coupons expire, just try Ebay for your parts.

Got an Advance down the road from my home. Great folks and they keep my '94 Chevy truck cruising down the road. I order online with coupon codes and shoot down the road at my leisure to pick them up. They're always waiting on the stock shelf for me. Can't beat that!

I found the same thing. Needed to replace a throttle body on my truck. $250 - $50 coupon at Advance versus $112 on Ebay for the exact same part.

If you're trying to use these AAP coupons to save on parts like fuel filters, oxygen sensors, or other major components to save money, you're doing it wrong. These coupons are most effective for stocking up on things that you cant find discounted anywhere else...not even ebay.

Things like air filters, spark plugs, batteries, air filters, etc are items you should be looking to get. No amount of ebay, amazon, or rockauto can touch AAP's prices after coupon when using it properly.

What the heck does that have to do with car parts. If you want warranty dont go with advance. Their policy sux lifetime warranty from them is Bend over. Autozone has all my warranty info replaced changed my flywheel n clutch in 2002 n they still had my info n they have rewards. Stay away from advance if u can.

Do these codes usually stay good until their listed end date? I have to talk to the mechanic that has my car to see what goodies I should get before I buy, but I'm worried the code will go inactive if people use it too much.
If you need parts, and have a few days lead time, check rockauto.com instead. Small stuff, like car wash, spark plugs, and things that don't normally go on sale are good uses for these coupon codes - big items like for instance the catalytic converter for my '05 dodge, much better to look online instead- AA the cat for my car is $420, rockauto the exact same part / mnfg is $160. I like these AA deals to stock up on stuff to keep the car clean.
