Got this promotion offer from Cox: Free 1-tier speed upgrade for 3 months.
The promotion mentions "As a valued customer, we're offering you a FREE speed upgrade for 3 months so you can experience the difference yourself"

To redeem this offer visit www.cox.com/ordernow and enter code AC132DX03U.

I read through the terms and condition and it looked good without asking for any commitment or price hike after 3 months so thought of sharing...

Excludes upgrades to "Ultimate tier"

Few things to make the code work:
1. You can check your current service plan by going to Residential Home > My Connection > Internet Tools: and look for Services:Cox High-Speed Internet - XXXXX Package

2. If the upgrade did not happen after entering the promo code online you have to call the customer support and ask him to apply the promo code there. (For me the chat support was not able to do it)

3. After 3 mnths you have to call the customer care and ask them to put you back on your original plan otherwise they will start charging as per the upgraded plan.

Didn't work for me - I see a page of various packages I can order, but nothing about a free speed upgrade. Am I missing something?

Looks like the promo is working, however because I don't remember my Cox password - I have to wait 30 minutes before I can finish the transaction. wtf.

Past 3 months
Month 1-$130
Month 2-$160
Current month- $190.

WTF! We have literally changed nothing and it has gone up. I bitched a couple months back and we were promised $50 for 6 months which shows up nowhere. Ugh.

It's unfortunately not my choice to cut off the cable and telephone. The internet (all I use) has stayed the same price, but the other two have gone up.

If you are currently on 25Mbps which is "Cox Internet Preferred" then you will be upgraded to 50Mbps which is "Cox Internet Premier" the next tier.

This would be awesome except that bandwidth sucks in my neighborhood. Upgraded my modem to the Motorola SB6141 but my speed maxed out at 32MB. Even after having them upgrade me to premier. Had techs out to check out lines, etc but crapped out at 32MB. So I'm stuck at preferred (25mb), but at least I still get 32MB. They also gave me a $10/month discount for a year. I wouldn't have replaced my 6 month old modem had I known.

Still a great deal so repped OP.

Get ooma for the phone. That is a no brainer. I have directv for TV and cox for Internet. They discount the phone and cable for bundling but Internet only customers get the shaft. Unfortunately here in Santa Barbara they basically have a monopoly since the only alternative is dsl.
