Like all Obi deals, +1. Probably the most trouble free technical device I have ever purchased. Been using it as my home phone for 3 or so years now.

Does this Obi100 have faxing ability?

I see on the Obihai website that the obi202 does but it does not say so for the obi100.

In for one. Sick of dropped calls and crappy signal from my house on my cell. This should replace the landline I got rid of several years ago, and should be fun to play around with.

I'm considering canceling my verizon fios triple play. Would you guys say this is the one to get, or hold out for a higher model?

Thank you.

I previously got one for my parents. Is working just fine using Google Voice. Haven't taken the leap yet to settign up the 911 but will need to as I am looking to cancel their home phone service.

Other posters are right. The device pays for itself in about a month or two depending on how high your phone service is.

I just picked up another one for my home for when the folks and in-laws visit. If you are looking to be able to do basic unlimited calls in the US and Canada for free this device will get you there.

Also with the 30-day free Amazon Prime Trail they are throwing in, this makes it an underrated SD. woot

Thanks & Repped OP! I researched this for about a week now and was hoping the Newegg sale of $30 for the Obi100 would go on sale again. I'm even happier that this $30 sale is through Amazon! Nothing beats Amazon's return policy imo. I bought this from Amazon for $36 just a few days ago and it's in transit now, but after chatting with an Amazon agent, they told me they'd fully refund the other order once I reject delivery, and offered me free one-day shipping once I ordered this one that's on sale through Obihai's Amazon account. I am so in love with both Amazon and Obi right now. Now, I just have to port my parents' landline # to a mobile sim, port that # to Google Voice, and I'm set for free phone service. YES! Finally, we can get rid of the overpriced Comcast home phone service! woot

Edit: I just ordered an Obi100 a few minutes ago, using the promo code given by the OP, and it worked for me.

How does this compare to Omma for sound quality? I've had ooma for about a year, and there's a bit more delay and echo than I like. We have good net speeds (36 down, 5 up) so that shouldn't be the problem.

Thanks!

Dead? Promo code not working for me.
Make sure you selecting the one that's "Sold by Obihai Technology, Inc. Fulfilled by Amazon" with the price $39.99. If you select the one that has price of $39.24 and "Shipped from and sold by Amazon.com", then applying coupon will give this error:
There was a problem
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

Bought it a couple of years ago because Vonage kept raising their taxes & prices. Love it.

Great price yet again. Thinking of buying an extra one, just in case I ever need more than what I have haha.

I had bought OBi202 a while back (for $60) and it has been working flawlessly. Our callers have not noticed any difference in call quality and don't know if we switched from Vonage to OBi/GV.

Bought this now to send overseas for my relatives so we can talk free.

I've always said Obi quality is equal to that of a good cell phone signal. Also, if you get one make sure you plug it directly into your router that is connected to your internet connection. For a while I moved my Obi device behind a wireless bridge and the quality was significantly decreased over direct wiring. Of course, others may have better WIFI signals than me.
