Not sure if it's hot or not but you can download PC version for $9.99 from Amazon, lowest ever price for this. No real tone cable included.

How to setup Rocksmith on PC without Official Tone cable

I found a guide that uses a patched file to allow you any sound input on your computer to Rocksmith on computer. You can download the Rocksmith PC demo on steam for free to test.

Well I just tried the fix and it worked with my Line 6 Toneport UX1 usb interface. Anyone feel free to test the fix with a microphone or any other computer audio interface, and report your results.

Thanks for posting this - I got the Xbox 360 version with the cable from a Best Buy daily deal and I've been waiting to get the game only on PC for cheap so I can practice without tying up the TV.

In for one and repped! I'm on the road 50% of the time, and this will make traveling a bit more fun. It will definitely help break up the monotony of straight practice.

It's an USB to 1/4 jack. I'm sure music centers like Sam Ash or Guitar Center will sell them. Not sure about cheap...eBay?

My brother hooked his guitar up to his laptop via a similar usb dongle, but it had terrible delay. I'm hoping that the Rocksmith dongle/cable is better.

Retail Box Game and Cable: $39.95 http://www.amazon.com/Rocksmith-G...004S5TDUQ/
Real tone cable: $29.99 http://www.amazon.com/Ubisoft-Roc...005OSFUZI/

I remember playing this on the 360. I was pretty terrible XD

My advice if you're using this to first learn how to start playing a guitar: make sure you have a quiet place you can set up where you won't annoy anyone by playing the same parts over and over again. I don't think my roommates were too happy to listen to my "axe playing" =P

The cable's good (unless you get a defective one, obviously). There will be more lag coming from mixing your audio and video signals (e.g. HDMI) than there will be from this cable

I've had good luck with the Line 6 GX and UX when traveling. May want to tell him to give those a try.

You'll have to tweak the rocksmith ini settings based on your sound card.

I also had to switch from my asus sonar to my onboard motherboard sound card to get extremely low latencies.

Since Amazon lists it as "DRM: Steam" near the top, I would say yes.

Yes it is activiated via steam.. Rocksmith on PC only works through Steam.

But how are some of you getting 3rd party audio interfaces to function through rocksmith?
