General Consensus: You're better off getting the SB6141, it's more future-proof and supported by Comcast.

Time Warner supports SB6121 and SB6141: http://www.timewarnercable.com/en...modem.html
Comcast supports SB6141: http://customer.comcast.com/help-...le-modems/

The black ones do NOT have the 1 year warranty.

The color of the case does not determine if it is a 'used' modem. This modem is available BRAND NEW in both white and black. I put this in here once before and it was removed. STOP spreading fud.

Though the SB6141 is $30 more or so, it's strongly recommended to buy a new one rather than a used modem. Cable modems don't always have the best reliability, and the 1 year warranty is important to have.

This is the one you want:

Pretty good price, lowest ever.

But think I'll hold off and wait for the SB6141 to come down in price. The Sb6141 has 8 bonded channels, vs the 4 bonded channels on SB6121.

My 6121 overheats and slows down to unusable speeds constantly. Avoid if you place it in a hot room.

got xfinity blast (50mb down, 10mb up).

how much better would 8 channels be? Or rather is 4 channels really that limiting?

Have the 6121 and have often wondered if it can't handle the iPhones, iPads, laptops, desktops, directv, etc all at once... Does this improve with additional bonded streams?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the SB6141 won't give you better performance for almost everyone. Unless you have some insane business class internet service that cost something like $200 a month. The SB6121 is plenty fast. So fast in fact I can't see the every day consumer needing the SB6141 for another 6+ years. I say this solely on the slow adoption rate of network speed improvement in the last 6 years. The SB6121 allows 172 Mbps download and upload speeds up to 131 Mbps. Most of us have 20mbps download speeds and some have 50mbps download. Raise your hand if you have 100mbps download speed. You might not see 131mbps upload speeds for a LONG time. Comcast is 20mbps download and 5mbps upload. The SB6141 is like having a highway with no speed limit but your car can only go 100mph tops.

It wouldn't be better. You don't need 8 channels for that speed.

8 channels won't necessarily provide more speed, but it will provide more stability.

However, in the long run, it is better to go with the SB6141 if you can, as it is the newest technology. I'm currently using a SB6120 and it's pretty fast, but I'm keeping an eye out for SB6141 for future proof. This is a decent article on SB6141 http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/...la-sb6141/

Sb6121 is still pretty decent for most people however.
