Thread Details

I just moved to a new apartment and I don't know how and where to sign up to get the weekly ads mailed to me. When I lived in the previous apartment, I used to get weekly ads from HEB, Kroger, Walmart, Target, Bestbuy,...... mailed to me every week. Could anyone help me, please. Thank you.

It usually takes 6-8 weeks after you move. I moved last year and it was 7 weeks before they started coming regularly.

But I asked my new neighbor who has been living here for 6 months and he said he hasn't gotten any ads like that. I guess I have to sign up somewhere but I don't know where.

not trying to be mean but that question is better asked in the nOob thread Wink
here rather then in a new thread. Or go to the specific grocery chat thread if there is one, send a private message to a longtimer for that chain if there isn't a chat thread Wink

for grocery store flyers, you can request them on each website I assume as I have done it for my stores. Or just call the Customer Service # found on the website under "contact us" usually and have them sign you up. Now Target, Walmart, Best Buy sort of stores you either get this in a Sunday paid subscription or see if there is a free paper that is delivered on Sat/Sun. There used to be two in my area but one just got cancelled.
Or just ask friends/family to save theirs Wink

Does anyone in your complex get the ads? Do you see a bunch of them thrown in the trash by the mailboxes? It seems unheard of that you would NOT be receiving junk mail, but maybe it has been suppressed at your address for some reason. You may have to get a subscription to the newspaper or just check them online.

Around here, the grocery ads come in the wednesday paper. If you don't subscribe to the paper then you get it in the mail.

Don't want to disagree with WBBell or sdNewby BUT it really depends on your neighborhood.

In some neighborhoods, NO COUPON INSERTS are mailed, period. The redplum mailer won't have grocery coupons, just rug cleaning, oil change, restaurant ads etc.

Depends on the contract/monopoly your local newspaper has...LA Times has a free delivered but not mailed ad bundle but they are supposed to go to non-subscribers in those specific neighborhoods.

You didn't specify where you lived? Small town? Or a city? Or a megacity?

where I am now I get two local places, before this I got none because we were too rural. I asked customer service and they said I could find it online or in store :eyeroll:

You can always call your local grocer. I'm i Phx and some neighborhoods don't get early ads at all, or ads at all for that matter.

But - calling the local store, and letting them know you want the grocery ads can help. As for the coupons, I think it ultimately depends on the relationship they have in your area.. for us in AZ an Early Red Plum is common in "some" neighborhoods, but not all.

Houston.... hmm, can't find a regional thread for Texas like we have for California ( two threads -- one for So Cal & one for Nor Cal).

Well, not mailed but have you checked out your local Spanish language paper? In LA, the Monday edition of the Spanish paper has inserts (50 cents).

There's an app called Weekly Ads & Sales. Punch in your zip or use locate and it will bring up every store ad in a pretty big radius.
