Home Depot has the Hoover WindTunnel Air Sprint Corded Bagless Upright [homedepot.com] vacuum currently on sale for $98.00. (EDIT: Had the wrong modelxlinked for Amazon comparison - corrected Amazon [amazon.com] currently has same one for $158!) (EDIT: Geesh, okay - it is NOT the same exact model at the one on Amazon - I guess my future as a vacuum doctor is hopeless - here is a LINK [homedepot.com] with the differences. Only ones being a 3 vs 5 year warranty, Cleaning range w/ tools: 7ft vs 14ft, Cord length: 20ft. vs 30ft, and weight: 11 lbs vs 13 lbs)

How to get for around $90+TAX & Free Ship
1. Add Hoover Wind Tunnel Air Sprint Corded Bagless Upright [homedepot.com] to cart
2. Add something $2.00 or more to cart - i.e. 10" Mini Bungee Cords [homedepot.com] - $2.39
3. Apply promo code: JUNEHD ($10 off $100)
4. Proceed through checkout
5. TAX for me was $7.80
6. Free Ship to home for vacuum (store pickup for bungie cords)
7. Grand Total (including TAX) for me was $98.27

Got one of these when the refurbs were being discounted down to $55, great machine, but mine overheats and cuts out after 5-10 mins of use, have to clean it out to remove any clogs ALL the time ... but all worth it .. so much so im in for this ... just hope no over heating

hmmm, different model 72420 so perhaps not that good, the one I got is available from Amazon for $129 [amazon.com] now that's a great machine .. pulls all the dog hair out ... ALL OF IT.. so if itsx simply an updated model this is a good deal. Just found it on the hoover website for $129 [hoover.com] so not such a great deal.

Lol, yes the first time I heard that squeal I was like what .... I got a dud, then someone on slickdeals told me to just clean it out, like it was a bit blocked, or the filter needed cleaning (I as a matter of course just run the whole filter assembly under the tap (after removing the fabric filter) and it seems to help..But that's probably why mine cuts out now ... the squeal vent doesn't activate ... Perhaps I should take a look at that ... prefer the squeal to the engine cut out. Its a great machine ... I always used to buy the cheapest bissel from wallies but the windtunnel air made me appreciate how important a good vacuum is

Didn't even know there was a "squeal vent" lol. I might look into it this weekend but from what I remember everything seemed clean out of the box, which part did you have to unclog? My neighbors think I'm abusing a pet piglet everytime it squeals.

Well when you look at the top of the actual canister, through the clear handle you will see the vent, about the size of a dime, where there are two small bars. This is the vent that squeals.

To clean it, hold the canister, and rotate the handle ~10degree's anticlockwise, remove the lid of the canister. pull out the whole filter / multicyclone assembly, by pulling on the black plastic filter assembly. There should also be a little flap on the fabric filter, which you pull on to remove from the multicyclonic assembly. Massive amounts of crude under that !! remove it, and run it under the tap. If you look through the tube from the bottom of the assembly you should see if full of dander and hairballs. This is what you want to get clean. Also the filter should at somestage be run under water, but I found it best to immerse it and squeeze / wring it to get the dirt out of that.

In addition to that, take a sharp knife to the brushes and remove the hair that has been built up, then disconnect the hose, and check it out for obstruction, almost always some crud in there... you can actually untwist the hose (anticlockwise) from the top part which feeds into the canister so you can pass a broom handle through it if you need to ... then that small plastic assembly from the hose to the canister is the only other thing you need to check .. Yes, I've found the kids bouncy balls in there as well.... the cost of letting a 6 year old loose with the vacuum. Anyway hope this is useful.

nope not at all, unless its squealing of course, in which case your neigbors may call the cops.... lol It really has amazing suction, and feels good to use as you can feel you are almost 'connected' to your carpet because of the pull the suction makes.
