Forum Thread

I asked Dropbox Support and even posted on their forum and nobody has any answers... "Storage full or unavailable" message NOT resolved yet!

I know I should have came here first. laugh out loud

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I'm not able to open or install any items in the Dropbox app. I continuously get a "Storage full or unavailable." message. I'm only using 5.8GB (60%) of my Dropbox space; my computers all have 100+ GB of space available; my external SD card has 14+ GB and my phone has 7GB of space available.

Any thoughts, tips or tricks?

FYI I can install and open everything using ES File Explorer, but it's an extra step that I shouldn't have to do.

BTW I can also access everything fine via desktop, tablets, laptops etc.

Consider this just throwing ideas out rather than any real knowledge...

That error message seems like an either/or thing. Either your file-systems are full or dropbox is unavailable.

If we assume the file-systems are not full, it means it's unavailable.

I would think that a password mismatch would give a different error so it's like it thinks the dropbox directory is either locked or not mounted.

Have you tried toggling between setting the storage as USB or MTP and trying again?

Maybe a glitch in the dropbox app? Try uninstalling & reinstalling.

Thanks. Repped. Dropbox doesn't appear to work like that. It's the app that's the issue.

Thanks. Repped. That is just crazy. This is the second S4 that had this issue (one with AT&T and one with Verizon), but I was open to uninstalling and installing the app again and IT WORKED!! OMG

Thanks again! woot

any other apps that would interfere with dropbox? were you using the same network connection(s) both times? just to be sure, you aren't trying to download large files (over 100mb), are you?

Thanks. There's nothing I can tell that's interfering and it doesn't work using wi-fi or 4G. Plus none of the downloads are that large.

Just a thought, but are you connected/joined to any "share" folders? If you do, the contents of the entire share folder will be subtracted from your overall Dropbox storage even if you are only using it peripherally.

have you tried long-pressing on the file and then doing "export to SD card"?

Thanks. Repped. Unfortunately not. This is really perplexing.

Thanks. Repped. It says "Error exporting...." when I try that. Frown
