*edit - according to other posters (see below) Costco membership may not be required if you purchase ONLY alcohol.

My local Costco (Phoenix, AZ area) is selling 1.75L bottles of Knob Creek Bourbon for $29.97. Previously $50. Haven't ever seen it under $40 anywhere going back at least half a dozen years. Price ending in a "7" indicates this is an special and is probably a closeout product that they won't be stocking any more. EEK!

YMMV -
  • Costco's in many states are not allowed to carry liquor. And not sold at Costco.com
  • Not sure if this is a national, regional or single store pricing.
  • At least half a dozen bottles available at Phoenix (Cave Creek) Costco as of 6/24/13
  • Stock is probably very limited

Though a bit heavily marketed, this is widely recognized as an excellent premium bourbon. Though not the priciest, it is arguably the best bourbon to come out of the Jim Beam premium line which includes Baker's, Basil Hayden & Booker's as well as the regular Jim Beam branded bourbons.

I don't like bourbon. I usually only drink beer and vodka with cranberry or orange juice. I enjoy vodka.

Stupid Idaho and their liquor stores... Of course, Costco's beer is only a few cents cheaper than Walmarts, plus you're stuck with a 24 pack.

FYI: I grabbed some Blanton's 750ml @ Carmel Mtn in San Diego for the same price, $29.97.
Went 8mi over to Scripps Poway and it as $41.99.

Actually membership is NOT required to purchase alcohol at any membership store. Something to do with regulations from Bureau of ATF I believe, they can't require membership, just tell them you're there to buy "only alcohol" and they will sell it to you for the advertised price.

OP, take membership required off the title. I am certain on this.

Second this ^. However, the cashiers usually do not know this, and will give you some trouble. You just have to ask for the manager in those cases and they will clear your purchase.

This is true in California due to our state's liquor laws, along with some other states, but don't think that such freedom is national.

No but coming into a deal thread to say you don't like the taste of the thing in the deal without any other helpful information does make you something....let me think of the word....
