Check whether your camera has back/front focus issues. I got refurbished D7000 several weeks ago and noticed back focus issue. Focus plane was behind the focus point I chose. (See attachment. I focused on the right eye, camera focused on the left).
Didn't want to send it back and I corrected the issue by AF fine tune option. Not a huge problem, and an easy fix.
I got mine today 7/8 and it has shutter count 13350..seems on a higher..should I keep it or return it..any suggestions?
My D200 had a shutter count of 115,000 before it was sent in, and the shutter was still working fine, but it had other issues going wrong (the 10 pin remote port wasn't working, the rear command dial was sticky, the grips were coming loose, the LCD was cracked, etc) and my backup D90 had a shutter count of 65,000 when I traded it away to finance a medium format project, but wasn't even showing a hint of giving up. The only shutter failure I've had was a D80 at 7,000 which was of course covered under warranty and was clearly faulty, not worn out. Don't give it a second thought, because that is nothing, and you are not going to kill the shutter before the future D7300 is only worth half of what you paid today for the D7000.
