I was just in the Encinitas (California) 99 Cent Store, and they have the liter containers of Zico brand coconut water for 99 cents each. This the the lowest price I've ever seen, (lower than Amazon's lowest price on Zico). If you're near a 99 Cent Store, you might want to see if your store has any of these remaining. Many people in Encinitas had several cases of it in their carts as they checked-out, ... that's how I noticed it, and then I bought one case, so it's going fast!, (6 liters in each case, for $6.00 per case). If your store is far away from you, keep in mind that many of the 99 Cent stores will inform you over the phone whether they have any remaining-stock, if you phone your local store in advance.
The Encinitas 99 Cent Store also has a few cases remaining (as of Wednesday evening), of the O.N.E. brand coconut water, (with fruit-flavors of Pineapple, or Mango, or Guava). These are 8.5 ounce size, and they're selling for .33 cents each. Another slickdealer mentioned several days ago that these smaller size are all dated for use by mid-August. The cases of Zico are all dated for use by December 2013. Hope you can find some of these great-priced items at your local 99 Cent Store. Have a happy July 4th! heart

Where do your coconuts come from?
ZICO is continuously searching the world for the best-tasting and most nutritious coconuts. There’s no question that coconuts from different regions offer different taste characteristics and different nutritional profiles due to soil and climate conditions. Therefore, we must constantly adapt and work toward providing the most fresh-tasting coconuts available.

Currently, all of the ZICO 11 oz. and the 1 L Natural products source from Thailand. Thai coconuts are also those most commonly found fresh in grocery produce sections, so this allows ZICO to offer consumers the same taste as the freshest available coconuts on the market.

The ZICO 14 oz products contain Indonesian and Filipino coconuts specifically chosen and blended for sports recovery, as they contain sodium levels comparable to traditional sports drinks.

Zico uses Thai cococuts, which have their own unique taste. When fresh, Thai coconuts have a fuller, creamier taste than Brazilian ones. When drank cold, Thai coconuts are simply addicting and you'll run through a case in no time. Whereas Zico is not FOTT (fresh of the tree), but it's the closest thing you can get to a fresh one.

I also agree, it tastes awful. I had some years ago and thought it was gross then. Now that it is mainstream, I thought the taste had improved but was wrong. I have a can bought at Sprouts that will most probably be used to cook the next batch of hot cereal.
