Thread Details

FILED-TESTED DEAL w/UPDATED INFO.

Staples has their Hyken chair on sale during the week of 07/07 - 07/13 for $149.99.
The Staples 20%-off In-Store Coupon is valid up to 07/07 (Sunday) and will shave an
additional $30.00 off the price of this chair. Additionally,
Staples has put out a $50-off
coupon on office chairs regularly priced at $169 or higher, giving you a final checkout price
of $99.99 (plus applicable taxes, minus 5% Rewards, etc.).

The product info for this unit (SKU: 990119) can be found HERE [staples.com] [staples.com].

The Staples 20%-off Coupon thread can be found HERE.

Additionally, there is another (separate) 20%-off coupon code that was mentioned HERE.

AFAIK, the Hyken chair has sold for as low as $54.99 at Staples. You can find my
redacted receipt in this thread HERE.

I can personally attest to the quality and comfort of this all-mesh, high-back chair. It is a
steal at anything less than $100 IMHO. (Others were able to get this deal to work for them
using the $50 coupon. No-go as to have the 20% off stack/apply. I confirmed yesterday
w/one of the shrewdest Staples managers I know, and even he said that he would accept
the $50 coupon on this chair despite the seemingly contradictory, ambiguous wording in
the coupon's terms/restrictions.)

The Staples Weekly Flyer (Find chair and $50 coupon on Page 3) can be found HERE [staples.com]. [staples.com]

NOTE: Some SDers have reported back to this thread that they were able to stack the $5
off $30 coupon (1st mentioned HERE, then later HERE) on top of the $50 chair coupon
found in this week's flyer.

I don't get it... can you simplify the instructions on what to do when I am at the store tomorrow?

$50 off coupon "Excludes already discounted chairs." Plus, "Each item can only be discounted by one coupon."

The $50 of chair coupon excludes already discounted chairs, so this may be YMMV?

I'll edit the OP in a few, as I forgot to mention that Page 3 is where to find both the chair and the coupon.

They list those SAME terms on all coupons (ie; standard "disclaimers"), but I'd tend to think most (if not all) managers will accept both coupons, especially as one is a %-off and the other is a $-off....

Seems like YMMV stacking multiple coupons but I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

Both of the local Staples in Palmdale and Lancaster, CA will not apply more than one coupon for each item. They're getting way smarter about coupons than they were a couple of years ago.

Reserve one first. Will see if it works out or not tomorrow.

This deal might have worked at staples two or three years ago. Will be a tough sell now.

That sucks. I would not shop at Staples if they forced me to purchase each item separately. That's moronic. I spend enough time checking out my items as it is with all of their NI-SKUs, coupons, Rewards certificates, toner savings pass, back-to-school savings pass, etc, etc.. Besides, their bag events and savings passes were designed to apply to ALL respective items on a receipt. If I were you, I'd find another Staples to shop at that understands the "Staples way" of doing things (eg; "that was easy").

They have the coupon right alongside the damn chair on Page 3 of their ad. (Yes, I did reread it.) It sucks to hear that you have such a hard time shopping at Staples.

Yeah, I think they've figured this out by now. But not OP's store. I think even without the $50 off, it's still an alright deal.
