I used the trick from http://slickdeals.net/f/6095056-Lowes-coupon-promo-codes?v=1 and drumnj
This is what I did for the 10% off:

Started with 470170188776501, changed numbers accordingly.

470170abcd7650e
where there is a letter it can have it's number changed anywhere between 1-9. You'll just have to search for one that works. After finding one I found at least 3 more.

I just bought this garage door opener a few weeks back when Amazon had it on sale for $179. The install was straight forward and went as planned. The garage door is extremely quite and the timer to close function is a nice touch. Good find OP.

You will need a separate opener for each door.

Anyone know what the difference between this model (LW5000EV) and the WD962KEV model that was in previous deals?

Appears to be the same except for color. LW is tan and WD is blue. Also just from pictures the wireless keypad is a little different.

The HomeLink® feature may be worth it to us. Wifey and I both have cars with this built into the electronics. It would be nice to just push a tab on the mirror to open/close the garage door.

Thumbs up + 4 reps.

Chamberlain openers are great.. The whisper quiet, I think the garage door rollers make more noise than the opener does..& the auto close feature is nice.

Don't most openers have Homelink except maybe the cheapest $100 range ones?

looks like the myq internet gateway is $40-50 extra (for smartphone and computer control)

FYI - if your cars are older than 2012 the built-in HomeLink may well not be "Security+ 2.0" compatible, which is the protocol this opener uses. In that case you need an AC powered repeater for it to work, which renders the the battery backup useless from the outside - unless you keep a spare OEM remote with you or you have a UPS to run the adapter off.

Here is the link to the Amazon deal for the WD962KEV model, which is equivalent to the Lowe's model. There are some posts that discuss this there.

I looked into this before and will add links if I can find them.

HomeLink® and MyQ have nothing to do with each other.

Confused Did I miss something?

Please explain.

Oh, our cars are 2011 and 2013.

Sorry, the issue is that this opener uses "Security+ 2.0" technology which is only compatible with the newer in-car HomeLink remotes.

Here is the reply I got from HomeLink when I asked about my 2010 Kia:

Thank you for visiting our Homelink website. Below is a response to the inquiry you recently submitted.

The garage door opener model WD962KEV is using a new serial encrypted technology and not all vehicles are compatible to the new serial encrypted technology. For those vehicles we have a HomeLink repeater that changes the car signal to a serial encrypted signal. Therefore the only way you will be able to get the vehicles programmed to the new garage door opener is by installing the HomeLink Repeater.

We have a program setup to where some vehicles qualify for a free repeater, and your vehicle is one of the ones that qualify for a free Repeater, all you would pay is the shipping which is $7.00. If you would like to place the order I will be more than happy to give you a call to place the order.

Sorry for the confusion. It's been a couple months.

BTW - the model # I e-mailed about, WD962KEV, is equivalent to the LW5000EV according to the Chamberlain manual: http://www.chamberlain.com/Catalo...4A4242.pdf

I suspect the LW number is a Lowe's specific model #.
