I know it isn't the time of the year yet.

For thrice the amount of a snow shovel and some good reviews, I'm willing to give this electric snow thrower a try though. Beats the Toro Power Curve I bought for $230 that was DOA. Our driveway isn't all that big and I was thinking of buying a few more snow shovels so the entire household can clear it quickly when I chanced upon this listing. I'm betting this compact snow thrower will actually make it a little easier to clear the driveway this winter. Those two-stage snow throwers are great but they require some maintenance, have a larger footprint where space is a premium in our garage and emit exhaust fumes that I don't want to be breathing in so this unit is perfect.

I guess it doesn't matter whether you get the $52.99 [Essex] or the $33.50 +19.49 shipping [wesaveyou$] listing as the price comes out to be the same. Might as well try and see which vendor doesn't slap your respective state taxes. I wasn't charged taxes for shipment to NY. Smilie

14-Inch clearing width
Easy chute control
4-3/8-Inch by 2-5/8-inch wheel size
9-1/2-Inch intake height
Folding loop handle
2-year manufacturer warranty.

EDIT: Essex is all sold out now so wesaveyou$ is currently the vendor of choice. Again, it's the same price anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. Smilie

EDIT 2: Dead at the original all in price of $53. I only see $64.99 + $19.49 shipping coming from a third vendor The Real Deal.

Just be aware that sometimes you do get what you pay for. I'm not saying it's a bad product, what I'm trying to say is keep your expectations low. A friend of mine bought one of these cheaper electric throwers (not this specific one) and told me it doesn't work well in anything other than light snow (and a small amount of it, 1"-3"). Said it worked fine for the walkways and such, but was a pain for the actual driveway because it wasn't powerful enough. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad product, but it may only be good for certain situations.
