Been Looking for a bike lock, price went from $34 and dropped to $30.57 today

Link [amazon.com]

Not the strongest in the series, but I like the mount and the cable to run through the back wheel once the u lock goes through the frame, front wheel and pole.

I've been looking for a bike lock but check out picture three on Amazon. It shows one of these pried open by a thief.

I'm using this. Not too worried. Even bank vaults can be beat.

This, and most bike locks, are more to keep an honest person honest than to stop a truly determined theif. Even the Fuggetaboutit (sp?) ones can be opened in a few minutes with the right tools. Heck, I still have a bike lock that can be opened with a BIC pen.

All told, this is a respectable lock, although I don't know anything about current pricing.

Do you live in an area known for a high instance of bike theft?

Thanks. Had it in my cart to order for a while now. It was $42.95 though.

$29.99 seems to be the lowest it goes: http://charts.urlhasbeenblocked/u...p=all&fo=0

Debating buying as a second u-lock for my bicycle in DC, although I think one u-lock and the scratched up body is enough of a deterrent. TU

I still think this is a good deal and good lock... you have to lock your bike properly (sheldon brown technique) to prevent a bar to go through... that picture definitely looks like a thief just pried it open with leverage.

I still though prefer onguard locks since their keys feel like better quality, they give you more keys, and it's easier to get replacements... also they are generally cheaper. But at this price with a cable, definitely a good deal.

These locks aren't really very useful. They tether the frame to the rack. The wheels are ripe for the taking

you can pass the lock through the frame and the rear wheel then pass the cable through the front wheel. front wheel probably wont be worth the hassle of cutting the cable.
