just a different pricing model, did it have in-app purchases when it wasn't free?
In-app purchases are a corner stone of Rovio's business model. Whether or not you pay to download the app, you will see pay options to make the game easier. I'm more concerned with restricting content behind an additional paywall, which I don't believe this game does. The two most popular in-app purchases are Path of the Jedi ($2) and Boba Fett Missions ($1). Both of these add-ons can be acquired through normal game play by scoring 3 stars on every mission and finding all 5 of Boba Fett's jetpacks, respectively. The content is available through dedicated play or a few bucks, whichever is easier for the gamer.
Bottom line: Angry Birds Star Wars will likely jump back to its pay-to-download price and in-app purchases are available, but not necessary. Best to download now and think about playing later.
