Soon to be trashed windows RT. Waiting for fire sale and CM port.
I imagine a CM port would be somewhat difficult considering microsoft will never release the drivers for this tablet to aid the CM community installing Android
However, it's be damn funny if they could do it.
Goal COMPLETE: Free After Rebate Computer/HTPC (named TDMVP73 Delight for networking purposes).
It's a Pentium IB with a 1TB seagate, 600 PSU, 4 gb of ram, and an MSI MB. I needed moneymakers to get me to the promised land (chip, cheap after rebate video card, and and cheap after rebate case) but it's done! Sporting Linux Mint but may get XBMCUbuntu or SteamOS.
With full windows 8 tablets going for less, it's difficult to see how the RT is a deal.... (not blaming you OP by any means... just don't know what MS is thinking in terms of their pricing).
The Surface Pro looks awesome, but I'm not spending $1000 for a tablet.
"In the 13 months I've been in the Senate, it has become apparent to me the single thing that Democrats hate and fear the most - and that is when they're forced to tell the truth. It makes their heads explode. An awful lot of the Democrats wanted exactly what George W. Bush wanted, exactly what John Boehner wanted, exactly what Mitch McConnell wanted, which is to stop the raising of the debt ceiling, but they wanted to be able to tell what they view as their foolish, gullible constituents back home they didn't do it."
I guess it depends on the needs of the buyer. I got an XPS10 from Dell outlet, for 300$ with keyboard. To be honest I like it a lot more than I thought I would, the biggest factor I hate don't like is how I can't use any browser minus IE. I don't really understand why someone would want full W8 tablet if you have to spend more it seems like the current Atom's are too weak to get any demanding legacy program done, and since you definitely can't game on them I just fail to see the bigger picture.
You basically nailed my thoughts of RT. I love the battery life and how well newer windows 8 apps run, but being limited to IE is a pain. I want my chrome bookmarks (without having to hack/port them). I hope that chrome finally comes to RT but I stopped holding my breath. Even with that said, chrome for desktop does not run as well as IE for tablet anyway. Either way, I had a surface RT and after 3 months sold it to get a Pro. For a student, the RT is not a bad tablet at all seeing as you get OFFICE FOR FREE and you can easily get a full day of school on one charge.
Tell me what a Android tablet cant do that this one can?
I rather get a Note 8.
