Need help flashing my Verizon Galaxy S3 to Page Plus

gabe23111 10,360 28,611 July 14, 2013 at 08:31 AM
I just bought a Verizon Galaxy S3 off of eBay. I'm currently on Sprint (using an Evo 3d) and want to take my number to Page Plus.

I see several eBay sellers selling "remote flashing" for $40-$50. That seems a bit much for something that hopefully I can do myself.

I am not extremely tech savvy but I have flashed roms on Android devices (i.e. CM to my HP Touchpad).

If someone can help me out or point me in the right direction on how I can flash my Verizon S3 to Page Plus It would be greatly appreciated. Again... I'm not that big of a "techie" so if possible please "dumb it down". I don't even no where to start. I tried "google searching", but everything I saw seemed not "dumbed down" enough for me.

I understand I won't have 4G service...

Thank you to anyone that can help this idiot out worship

XDA is probably your best bet, I'm thinking? I've flashed a lot of phones before, but things change all the time and very quickly.

XDA would have the latest and greatest info.

cheap, fast, good - pick any two.

PSA: Yahoo email is extremely insecure...switch to Gmail if you can!! Hotmail is better but not as good as Gmail.

Thanks. I did find this thread on XDA, but it seems as if the process starts "beyond where a newbie to flashing like myself" is capable of understanding.

So what I gather is, you want to Root and flash a ROM to the S3 first.

After that, make sure it's in airplane mode, then enter the diagnostics of the phone depending on which carrier it's on.

Once in diagnostic mode, you need to apply certain fixes such as PRLs, MMS fixes, carrier codes, etc.

You should read the entire thread, make notes, before you attempt to flash.

The research is the longest part. I always read entire threads, reference posts, etc., before I flash any device, to make sure I am comfortable and know what to do / expect.
