Costco has the Seagate Backup Plus 3TB Desktop External Hard Drive for $99.99 + Tax (if applicable).

http://www.costco.com/Seagate-Bac...07783.html

You can order online or go instore and buy it. Valid until 8/4/13.

Pretty good deal considering USB 3.0 enclosures are spendy.

Not anymore. REI changed their return policy:

We stand behind everything we sell. If you are not satisfied with your REI purchase, you can return it for a replacement or refund. Items must be returned within a year of purchase, except items purchased from REI-OUTLET which must be returned within 30 days of purchase.
Yup. They're all changing because people believe that buying a pair of shoes at REI entitles them to free shoes for life. It's really too bad because there are many items where you could have a legit return a couple years down the road, but people abused all of these retailers to the point where they're all eliminating their satisfaction guarantees.

I've never bought anything from Costco ... if anyone else is in the same boat they charge a 5% surcharge for non-members FYI

that with tax came to $114.81

If they haven't killed this program yet they will soon. All of these "satisfaction guaranteed" return policies are going away. Sam's Club used to have it for everything too. Cabela's also had it, but when you see some of the stuff people return it's easy to see why they get rid of it.
Yeah, I hope they would kill it too like Sam's Club. I have seen too many abuses beyond belief.

These 3tb harddrives are awesome, very fast transfer rate. I have two I pulled from other external enclosures from previous staples deals.

You realize this is one of the factors that separates Costco and Sam's club, right? People are going to abuse things like this, if Costco were to listen to it's shareholders it would probably get rid of such a generous return policy... and the wages it pays it's employees, and the benefits it gives its employees, and the prices it charges for items....

Somehow Costco finds way to keep being profitable, keep expanding and the stock keeps going up and up.

Same price as last BF.

Waiting for $30/gig out the door.

What's there to see?
$30/gig would make this drive ~$90,000! So this would be a very slick deal for you! (Ok, yes, I know you meant $/TB. I'm old enough to remember thinking about $/MB when considering HDDs.)

I bought the same drive last year from amazon for the same price. I used it as network storage attached to router. Very reliable and fast although I'm only use it at usb 2.0 speed. 3TB plenty enough for me.
