The clarity of optics on sunglasses by Ray-Ban, Oakleys, and especially Maui Jims are much better than cheap ones. Personally $80 is a bit on the higher-end I would spend, I do easily spend $50 on sunglasses, and have scored Oakleys polarized ones for around $80.
It's a legitimate question. I'm simply asking out of curiosity, not trying to chastise anyone.
How can anyone justify spending $90 on sunglasses? Let alone MSRP?
Because. I used cheap glasses for years, when I started making a better living, I invested in better glasses. Now, when I put on cheap glasses, things just aren't as clear or crisp. Also, protecting my eyes is important, cheap glasses look ok, but take a rock to the lens(mowing the lawn ect) and you'll end up with a shattered lens in your eye. If you're wearing these, that won't happen. I make my living using my eyes (director of photography), so spending $100 to protect the two most important things on my body in relation to my job isn't much at all.
