*** UPDATE: Now selling color = BLACK ***

Vault shopvault.com [shopvault.com] has the JLab Bouncer Bluetooth 2.1 Stereo Speaker with Full-Size USB & AUX port - Black as a "live" event for $79.00 (free shipping).

If you create a new account, you can get another $15.00 off - total price then $64.00 shipped!! ALSO, check your emails or existing account - I had a $25 off $50 applied to my account, so I can get it for $54.00.

Amazon [amazon.com] has it for $129.99 with four-star reviews. Only possible downside is no "portability" (no battery - needs to be plugged into an outlet). However, you can charge your device using the USB port in the back, which is nice for those 12-hour parties. I've used vault.com before for another live deal on a backpack, and it was shipped quick with no problems.

Not that I would, but could you plug one of those "external battery packs" into one of these and run it off that battery? Or would it draw too much power from the battery?

I'm not sure but I would doubt it. You have to also realize this is not very portable at 30" x 13" x 10"! Not for travel, but good sound for small/medium sized rooms

Edit:

Don't want to throw people off the Amazon dimensions are wrong. It is 13" x 5.5" x 4.5" per JLab website.

Whoa...where are you getting those dimensions?! It's 13" x 5.5" x 4.5" - very portable and good for travel. Amazon dimensions appear to be a mistake. Here is the link to JLab

Oh wow. You're right the Amazon dimensions are wrong. What's strange is, before purchasing, I ran into a site's review mentioning the 30" dimensions saying it was huge! (I guess he didn't bother measuring it heh). Thanks for clearing this up, even better Smilie

They also have the TDK V513 Bluetooth Sound Cube [shopvault.com]. Although this one is less portable, it's louder and produces decent sound.
$99 FS or $75 after $25 credit (I just got 2 credits on my 2 accounts). Sold for $145 at Amazon [amazon.com]

lol.. yep 30" def wouldn't have been very portable but even if it was 30" I was thinking more along the lines of camping / mountain house.. putting it on the deck without having to run an extension cord the length of the deck to play music.

Even at that size, I wouldn't say it's "very portable", lol. Besides, it requires you to have 110V connected to use these so it's even less portable.

You probably could run it off one of those battery packs just fine. The power adapter provides 18V DC but probably you could run it off 12V of so but I don't have one to say for certain.

I realize the website says 12W but a lot of times those numbers are fudged.

someone over on Fatwallet posted that they are running their Logitech speakers off 8xAA.
