A good deal. I think this is the one they had on Black Friday at this price new.
Still put a SquareTrade warranty for 3 or 4 yrs. for $60-70 with a coupon.

Been that price for months. If you search their site, there was also an E600i refurb for $648 or so.

AFAIK we never found out the diff between the 600 and the 601. Appeared to have the same specs, but the 600i is only available at walmart.com.

It could be because stores won't price match because it's different model numbers. Computers used to be like this a few years ago.

This was the doorbuster in Walmart's black friday sale last year. It's a solid tv from the perspective of picture quality for the price. The smart tv elements are a little underwhelming as the vizio app store is mediocre. It plays netflix well but I don't think there's a plex app yet. Ended up having to pair this thing with a WD Streaming Live Player.

So if I don't care about smart tv features and want a solid 60" and already have an htpc, you would do this?

Thats what im doing with a PBO Core. Got it a few months ago. The picture is amazing. Better than my LG plasma.

Just in case: if you watch sports on this, make sure to change your source (PBO, WD, HTPC) to output @ 50hz/1080p or the image will be choppy.

I got this TV on Pre-Black Friday at Sam's Club. Overall the TV is great for the living room. I tuned it with settings from AVSforum.com

The VIA interface feels a little cumbersome to me, but I can still stream Pandora, Netflix, and Hulu through it no problem. Have a WD TV Live to play all my videos.

I did encounter an issue about 5 months in where the picture went out due to a chip. It was a known issue, and they sent some guys with a new one, hooked it up, and hauled away the bad one. we'll see how long this one lasts.

Read more about the issue here:https://vizio.custhelp.com/app/an...w/E601i-A3 They have a dedicated phone line just for this problem.

It only affected some serial numbers, so if yours isn't listed, you should be in the clear.

My favorite part of his entire initial post:

As a data point, I got a refurb Vizio 70" - and it flickered and needed to "warm up" like an 80s tv. Not certain if they have multiple refurb locations, but I complained that their process for quality checks obviously had some gaps.

Also, I bought an extended warranty, but since the thing was crap from day one - returned it, got a refund on the warranty, lots of work for nothing. Ugg.
